- Dan Corrigan: [sternly] But you don't wanna marry a back country logger, is that it?
- Sequin: That's it.
- Dan Corrigan: Then you better get yourself a new Corrigan.

- Dan Corrigan: I seen too many men work themselves to death for an ambitious woman.
- Sequin: [angrily] Do you want to be a river rat *all* your life?

- Beauvais: [referring to Dan Corrigan] Go ahead, make a gentleman out of him. He's just stupid enough to be good material... but after he gets to be a gentleman, he'll want a lady

- Sequin: I'd be a little careful of how I talked if I were you.
- Beauvais: One thing's certain, Sequin. All your money, and all your timberland, will never make a lady out of you.
