- Mary: You can fly as well as any of those newfangled airplanes. Did you tell them of your wonderful war record?
- [John looks at a portrait of himself as a proud, well-decorated war plane]
- Mary: A hero of ninety missions over the Pacific?
- John: Yeah. I even showed them my purple heart.
