I poured over every medical book I could get my hands on, I can't find a thing about an epidemic effecting only young girls. If I were supersticous I'd say it was more like a curse. Well, at the expense of my medical pride, I have to admit it was your medicine that did the trick, her pulse is normal, she's sleeping peacefully. I'm almost tempted to throw away my black bag and come over to your side.
- Preacher Dan Young: You've always been on my side.
- Preacher Dan Young: How can you speak of 'love' when all you do is kill?
- Drake Robey: I kill to exist! Death is my life. It's a force I can't control.
- Preacher Dan Young: Don't you realize that hiring a killer is just as sinful as committing the murder yourself?
- Dolores Carter: I'm not in the mood for any of your sermons. Not unless it was delivered at Buffer's funeral. You're a big man with words, but talking is not going to bring Tim and Pa back.
- Preacher Dan Young: And killing Buffer won't bring them back either. All this raving about killing and revenge is as blasphemous as praying to the devil.
- Dolores Carter: [rising] If the devil can stop some of this pain in me, then I'll even pray to him.
