- [in the town jail, Ralph Anderson can be seen looking at a wanted poster for Victor Massonetti. As he's doing this, a dazed Tippy Anderson enters the room. He takes one look at Ralph before he seems to recognize him]
- Tippy Anderson: Ralph?
- [Ralph turns around to face Tippy. After a few seconds of silence, he nods his head]
- Ralph Anderson: Hello, Tip.
- Tippy Anderson: You'd do it like this, wouldn't you? Right out of the blue. Bang, you're here.
- Ralph Anderson: You didn't say welcome home.
- Tippy Anderson: [somewhat sarcastically] Home? Okay, welcome home.
- Ralph Anderson: [softly] Uh, you may not believe this Tip... but, it's good to see you again.
- Tippy Anderson: It's good to see you, too, Ralph.
- [in the town hotel. Ralph Anderson can be seen facing Victor Massonetti, the latter who is sitting in a chair]
- Victor Massonetti: You're in good work, Mr. Anderson, I want you to know I appreciate it.
- Ralph Anderson: [laughs sarcastically] What do I do now? Thank you for the opportunity?
- Victor Massonetti: I know how you feel, nobody works for me for nothing.
- [Massonetti reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out an envelope, which he waves at Anderson]
- Victor Massonetti: For you, your Daddy says some of this will make you feel better.
- [Anderson takes the envelope and looks at it for a few seconds before he looks at Massonetti]
- Ralph Anderson: Spit in my face.
- Victor Massonetti: You'll keep it.
- [Anderson tosses the envelope to Massonetti]
- Ralph Anderson: This isn't my business. You want to sue somebody sometime, my number's in the book.
- [in the desert, Ralph Anderson can be seen with a gun in hand. He is currently being pinned down by gunfire coming from unseen saboteurs. As Ralph scans the area, Victor Massonetti can be seen watching]
- Ralph Anderson: [shouting] Next pass you make, he's dead!
- [There is no response from the saboteurs]
- Ralph Anderson: You hear me? Next time, we kill him!
- [in his hotel room, Victor Massonetti can be seen speaking with Ralph Anderson]
- Victor Massonetti: Where would you say she's going in such a hurry?
- Ralph Anderson: [shrugs] Who knows? Wherever a woman goes in a hurry, I guess she's going.
- [last lines]
- [at the gas station, Ralph Anderson and Linda Anderson can be seen as Tippy Anderson's lifeless body is being taken away. Both look emotional]
- Ralph Anderson: [softly] He won't have to punish himself now. Not any longer.
- [Linda and Ralph look at each other for a few seconds before they head towards a police car. Ralph opens the back door and helps Linda in before joining her. The film ends as the car begins driving away...]
- [Ralph Anderson can be seen riding in the front seat of a police car. Sitting behind him is Victor Massonetti, who can be seen leaning forward]
- Victor Massonetti: How about you, lawyer? Davis tells me you're pretty though. Anything scare you?
- Ralph Anderson: [annoyed] Want to know? Yes. I'm scared, and I'll stay scared all the way to Barstow.
- Victor Massonetti: [threateningly] You'll never get this car to Barstow. That's a fantasy for schoolboys and fools, and you fit neither category. Anderson, use your...
- Ralph Anderson: [irate] Knock it off!
- [at the police station, Ralph Anderson can be seen with a gun in hand. Also present is Tippy Anderson, who is taking a drink]
- Ralph Anderson: [with increasing anger] You wanted that 15 grand so bad, okay... you're gonna work for it!
- [Ralph swats the glass out of Tippy's hand. The glass can be heard hitting the floor]
- [at the jail, Victor Massonetti can be seen escorted in handcuffs. As he's been led to the door, he stops to speak with Ralph Anderson]
- Victor Massonetti: Tell you something, lawyer. Out there, that's the longest road in the world.
- [Massonetti is lead outside as Ralph looks up at Tippy Anderson]
- Ralph Anderson: You ready, Tip?
- [Tip says nothing as he and Ralph exit the jail]
