In this episode is a strong influence from film noir present. Just think of the robbing couple on the run from the police, the car chase, no place to stay overnight, no way to leave the city (since this is Berlin, this is extra difficult to do), the final suspense around the too clever hiding place for the stolen money… and the story being told in flashback and that for the first time in this series we knew from the beginning who the criminals are. The story is well paced especially in the beginning, unfortunately big chunks of the car scenes are done with back projection which is very obvious. Because we know the criminals and see their actions the police does not get so much attention as she did in the earlier episodes.
