Peter Sellers in After the Fox (1966)

Goofs

After the Fox

Edit

Continuity

Gina Romantica rubs Tony Powell's hair dye on her face. Seconds later, the marks on her face are still there but her hands are clean.
While Aldo and his cronies are taking movie equipment out of the van, a boy can be seen leaning into the corner of a wall and fountain. But when the shot changes, suddenly the boy is in front of another part of the fountain.
When the dark green van with the gold bars is about to be driven into the back of the larger moving van, there is a shot of the smaller van's moving shadow on the ground. That shadow shows railings and other items on top of the van - which it clearly doesn't have in all the other shots of it. This is obviously a different van with a camera and equipment on its roof.
When the fake movie crew first arrives in town, Fabrizi is sweet-talking some women washing clothes. One of them tosses the wash water at him, then when the camera returns to her, her basin is perfectly dry.

Factual errors

At the beginning of this film, the police conferees are presented with a gold bar to examine. Based on its apparent size - it seems to be about a foot and a half long by three and a half inches wide and high - it would weigh on the order of 150 pounds. Yet it is passed around the table as if it weighed a tenth that much.

Revealing mistakes

In the close-up shots of Okra watching the van with the gold bars through his binoculars, a seam in the studio's light blue sky backdrop is clearly visible on the right.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

When Maurice Denham is reading the four names of possible criminals, when the audio dub names Michael O'Reilly, it's clear from Denham's lips that he's reading a different name and origin that must have later been changed.

Character error

As Fabrizi enters the home of the cafe owner to take a phone call, the man's introduces his wife. Fabrizi calls her "very pretty" and she laughs. It is clear that her front tooth, supposedly missing, is instead blacked out.
