- Tinker: Where would you hear about that?
- Nicola: Oh someone told me, a girl.
- Tinker: How did she know?
- Nicola: Oh, quite a lot of people seem to know.
- Tinker: A-hah, so you have been discussing me.
- Nicola: Have I ?
- Tinker: Well how else would it come out ? Tell me, did she know me?
- Nicola: She knew you organized it.
- Tinker: Makes me sound like a Gangster.
- Nicola: Aren't you ?
- Nicola: What do you do when you've trapped them ?
- Tinker: Who ?
- Nicola: The girls you collect with the system.
- Tinker: Well it depends.
- Nicola: Are you setting a trap for me ?
- Tinker: Of course.
- Nicola: And are you going to ask me back to your room ?
- Tinker: Yes.
- Nicola: I see.
- Tinker: And are you going to come ?

- David: Grocs ?
- Tinker: Grockles, holidaymakers. Most holidaymakers are grockles., but the real ones you can spot a mile off. Usually they wear shorts, woollen socks and thick black leather shoes, with their shirts undone all the way down the front so you can see the full extent of their manly chests.
- Willy: Or he wears a white open-neck shirt, wide braces and 24 inch grey flannel trousers.
- Tinker: They arrive in Grockle wagons.
- Sneakers: Shower bangs.
- Tinker: Eat Grockle food.
- Willy: That's anything, as long as it's with chips.
- Tinker: Is never seen without his Grockle box.
- Sammy: 30 bob camera.
- Willy: In simulated leather case.
- Tinker: And invariably carries his Grockle comforter.
- Sammy: Transistor radio.
- Tinker: And spends most of his days in Grockle traps.
- Sneakers: Gift shops.
- Tinker: The Grockle is closely related to the Troglodyte. The Troglodytes lived in a natural cave, stoned their grandparents to death and came out three times a year for food. The Grockle puts his grandparents in an old folks home, lives in a pre-cast concrete cave and comes out once a year to make a religious pilgrimage to the sea from whence he came. There he ceremoniously rolls up his trousers and dips his feet in the water.
- Larsey: Ah, there you are Taylor, you've been taking time off again?
- Tinker: Not particularly.
- Larsey: Oh no Taylor, we work on an individual average of 250 a day here, you've only been bringing in 135, average that is,135.
- Tinker: They don't all want their photographs taken, do they?
- Larsey: We make memories here Taylor, that's our stock in trade, memories, things to look back on in the long winter evenings, that's what we're here for.
- Tinker: I thought for a moment we were in it for the money.
