Jonathan Winters' premiere weekly variety show has guests Red Skelton, Barbara Eden, Ivan Dixon, and the rock group The Doors. Red and Jonathan mime two lusty lumber-jacks, and Maude Frickert discusses "Sex and the Senile Girl." In sketches, Jonathan is the prudish husband of a mini-skirted Mrs. (Abby Dalton), and spoofs the movie "In the Heat of the Night, portraying a Southern sheriff who's flummoxed by a crafty suspect. Improvisational Spot: Jonathan creates off-the-cuff humor with a towel.

Ed performs "Luck Be a Lady." Peaches and Herb duet on "Love is Strange." Ed and Carol sing " Do You Love Me? " Jonathan urges a young runaway to return home in a skit plus face a burglar.

Jonathan's guests include Art Carney, who performs with the Robert Banas Dancers; singer Connie Francis; and Peter, Paul & Mary. Cast members perform a spoof of films depicting life in the Armed Forces during World War I which features a cameo appearance by Johnny Carson.

Highlights of this episode include: Winters portrays Grannie Maude Frickert; a comedy sketch with Abby Dalton about an arguing husband and wife; and a spoof of "Death of a Salesman." Performances by guests Peggy Lee, Oscar Peterson, and Louis Nye who performs a vaudeville number.
