Amusing but uneven comedy about a sympathetic rogue man well played by the great José Luís López Vázquez.
The old-fashioned couple (José Luís López Vázquez, Gracita Morales) employs a statuesque Danish maid (Ingrid Garbo) in their home. "orderly" man, However, really The husband, who normally spends his days obsessing over women, begins to lose his head over the attractive young woman's presence. But the married man can't stand his mother-in-law (Mary Carmen Prendes) and lives every day waiting for the night. That's when he gets the chance to let his hair down, go to a night club and escape from the monotony of his family life.
Typical comedy of the Sixties following the Spanish age , being embarrassingly though professionally directed by the prolific Luis Maria Delgado . Showing the hypocrisy and double standards of many family men of the time who led two lives, one in their married life and another when they were not with their wives, this situation usually occurred when they were as ¨Rodriguez¨ or "living alone" (when the rest of the family had gone on vacation), a situation that was depicted in several Spanish films. This is an average Spanish comedy there are colored actors , comical sketches , amusement , humor, eroticism and entertainment . Fun and silly comedy about a likeable rogue man with double personality, starring José Luís López Vázquez in his ordinary style . These films he made in the sixties and Seventies were released in short budget and lackluster but including comedy and lots of fun . Those contained many explosive girls , laughs , disconcerting situations, slapstick , being mostly directed by Luis Maria Delgado and Mariano Ozores . Although it does not star Alfredo Landa, the film can still be labelled within the subgenre film belonging to ¨Landismo sub-genre¨, as it bears remarkable resemblance to Alfredo Landa films , in which , ordinarily , a lascivious as well as botcher typical Spanish man dedicates his all-time to flirts or ¨Ligar¨ beautiful girls .
A great performance by López Vazquez, in a Jekyll and Hyde kind of role, where he becomes a repressed, strict lord of rigid puritanical customs. While awaiting each night to let loose at a nightclub and escape the daily monotony of family life. He plays a dual role: By day he is Germán, a serious and strict man, while at night he is Yerman, a wild hippie who likes to dance and pick up young girls. In the film, Ingrid Gargo stands out immeasurably; she is a true discovery, frankly beautiful and radiant in her portrayal of the relatively naive Danish girl. It's a shame that this explosive actress didn't have a sustained career, making only a few films before disappearing from the cinematic scene. Meanwhile, the other co-star, Gracita Morales, plays Gracita Morales, with her usual winks and distinctive voice. Adding to the cast are other supporting actors typical of Spanish cinema of the time, such as: Pastor Serrador, Mari Carmen Prendes, Marisol Ayuso, Luchy Soto, Paloma Cela, Fernanda Hurtado, María Isbert, Ángel Álvarez, Matilde Muñoz Sampedro Rafael Hernández, José Orjas, José María Tasso, and Josele Román.
The motion picture was mediocrely directed by Luis Maria Delgado, although it has some charming and enjoyable moments . He was son of filmmaker Fernando Delgado who directed ¨Currito De La Cruz¨ . Luis Delgado's film debut was ¨La Estrella Del Rey¨, though previously directed with Henri Decoin ¨El Deseo Y el Amor¨, with Dulio Coletti ¨Los Italianos Estan Locos¨ and with Fernando Fernán Gómez co-directed ¨Manicomio¨. Luis directed various kiddies films such as ¨Secuestro En La Ciudad¨, ¨Aventuras En Las Islas Cies¨, ¨Hamelin¨ a musical starred Miguel Rios , ¨Chispita Y Sus Gorilas¨ and ¨Loca Por el Circo¨ with Ana Belén . Luis Delgado made multitude of comedies , most of them written by playwright Juán José Alonso Millán , and mostly vehicles for known Farceurs or comedians as ¨Tip and Coll¨ in ¨Garbanza Negra Que En Paz Descanse¨ , Alfredo Landa in ¨Onofre¨ , ¨Guapo Heredero Busca Esposa¨ , ¨Cuando Cuerno Suena¨, ¨Alcalde Y Politica¨ , ¨Profesor Eroticus¨ , ¨Obsesiones De Armando¨, Paco Martínez Soria in ¨La Tia De Carlos¨ and Manolo Escabar in ¨? Donde Estará Mi Niño¿¨ . And he directed ¨Diferente¨ at his best and considered to be a real ¨Cult Movie¨. Rating Mi marido y sus complejos: 5.5/10. Average but acceptable and passable.
