Paco (Andrés Pajares) and Celia (Silvia Monti), two siblings who are dedicated to thievery, barely cover the costs of their sister's education at a convent school where the mother superior (Rafaela Aparicio) imposes strict rules at the luxurious boarding school. To attend a party at his sister's school, Paco steals a convertible car belonging to Peret, a singer who is scheduled to perform at the party (in which Hermanos Calatrava perform as well). Later on, the younger sister (Eli Gal) learns about her two older brothers' criminal activities and poses as a disabled girl in a wheelchair, while Paco and Celia pretend to be two Argentinians. All this with the aim of stealing some valuable jewelry owned by the well-known Rumbero singer and actor Peret.
One of the vehicles of the catalán singer Peret made for his personal success, the formula consists of creating a slight melodramatic plot with hilarious touches, which would allow the insertion of musical numbers performed by the star of the show. The film is a light and sympathetic comedy with no artistic values that has as its background the tourist boom in 1960s' Sun Coast, that's why it was filmed in Marbella. The main role Peret is played by himself and can be said that's perfectly adequate to his measure. Peret gives a real recital as the splendid singer in Spanish style: he created the Rumba Catalana. He was a famous Spaniard gypsy singer and guitarist. He was discovered by powerful producer Benito Perojo who financed most of Peret's films as the successful "Amor a todo gas" by Ramon Torrado , "A mi las mujeres ni fu ni fa" by Mariano Ozores, "El taxi de los conflictos" by Jose Luis Saenz De Heredia, "El mesón del gitano" by Antonio Roman. Best known for his 1971 hit single "Borriquito" (la canción del mosquito). He was one of the best known singers of the Spanish songs, very sucessful, both in Spain and internationally. Represented Spain at the 1974 Eurovision song contest. Along with him, a good cast of established or secondary actors, such as: Andrés Pajares who delivers the hilarious set pieces, the beautiful italian Silvia Monti, the great Rafaela Aparicio, José Sazatornil 'Saza' and two comical couples by then with big hit: Tip and Coll and Los Hermanos Calatrava.
The motion picture was mediocrely directed by German Lorente. He was a craftsman who directed various films, getting hits and flops, such as "La vendedora de ropa interior", "Venus de fuego", "Adolescencia", " Violation", "Una chica casi decente", "Hold-up", being his big hits: " Playa Formentor"and "La chica de Vía Condotti". Rating: 4.5/10. The picture is recommended for Peret fans only.
