Link Stuart: I'll give you your clothes, but first I want your word of honor that you won't kill Gauche on sight.
Kuroda Jubie: My clothes!

Kuroda Jubie: [angrily speaks Japanese]
Link Stuart: Don't know what the hell that's all about, but it sounds like it's comin' from the heart. Well?
Kuroda Jubie: Give me five minutes with him.
Link Stuart: Not enough.
Kuroda Jubie: One hour. Give me one full hour.
Link Stuart: I need one full day. Kuroda, I need the time to make Gauche take me to the cash. I wanna be sure it's there.
Kuroda Jubie: No!
Link Stuart: All right, you suit yourself.
[Kuroda starts to shiver in the cold]
Link Stuart: Turnin' blue. Won't be long you'll be nothing but a clump of ice. By nightfall you'll be frozen into the landscape, and you'll never avenge your friend or never get your sword. You're gonna end up in Japanese hell, a disgrace to your ancestors.
Kuroda Jubie: You have my word, I will not kill the man until you say.
Link Stuart: [smiles, gives him his clothes back] Don't take it so hard. I think you're one hell of a man.
Kuroda Jubie: I think you are one son of a bitch.

[Link and Kuroda have just killed four members of Gauche's gang who attacked them in Pepita's brothel]
Link Stuart: [ironically] Enjoy the hospitality of the Hotel Maxime.
Kuroda Jubei: Yes. Nice people

[after Kuroda hurls Link to the ground during their fight]
Link Stuart: Do you think you can do that again?
Kuroda Jubei: Almost certainly.
[Link charges Kuroda several more times and every time Kuroda flips him on his back]
Link Stuart: [panting] Looks to me that you're getting tired. I'll tell you what. We'll call it a draw.

Maria: My name is Maria. My father sold me here last month. I'm sorry. I'm not one of great experience yet. Besides, I am afraid.
Kuroda Jubie: No. First you undress me.
[Kuroda hands Maria his samurai sword]

Link Stuart: I think you ought to get Christina ready.
Kuroda Jubie: All right.
Link Stuart: We'll be travelin' soon. Do you think you can handle her? Drag her out by the hair if you have to.

Link Stuart: You sure are an unreasonable man. All this hassle for a hunk of metal. Hell. You know when I catch up with Gauche, I can buy you another sword! I can but you fifty swords!
Kuroda Jubie: Samurai life is service. Code of Bushido says be strong, have courage. Sacrifice yourself for your master. My father was samurai. His father. His, his, his. Four hundred years, all died fighting. There is great honor in my family
Link Stuart: Yeah, well these days a lot people have peculiar ideas. There's no need to strain yourself.
Kuroda Jubie: Men need these ideas to live by.
Link Stuart: You can't spend ideas.
Kuroda Jubie: But now all is changed. Japan has had big wars between lords. Has become a different country. Soon a great nation, like yours. Then samurai life will finish. All must give up swords. Become farmers, fishermen. Become nothing. So I must succeed one last time, my master says.
