Alice
- Alice: [sings] How doth the little crocodile improve his shining tail / And pour the waters of the Nile on every golden scale! / How cheerfully he seems to grin, how neatly spreads his claws / And welcomes little fishes in with gently smiling jaws!
- Alice: [sings] Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle-Dee agreed to have a battle / For Tweedle-Dum said Tweedle-Dee had spoiled his nice new rattle.
- Alice: [sings] Just then flew by a monstrous crow, as black as a tar-barrel / Which frightened both the heroes so, they quite forgot their quarrel.
- The March Hare: Have some wine.
- Alice: I don't see any wine.
- The March Hare: There isn't any.
- Alice: Then it wasn't very civil of you to offer it.
- The March Hare: It wasn't very civil of you to sit down without being invited.
- Alice: [right after singing "Curiouser and Curiouser", Alice finds herself sitting in a pool formed by her own tears when she was a giant. She jumps to her feet] ... How can that have happened? I've grown small again... Oh, that was a narrow escape. Now for the garden.
- [Sloshing through ankle-deep water, she rushes to the door - only to find it still locked. She grunts]
- Alice: Oh, I've forgotten the key again. I never was as small as this before, never... It's too bad. Things are worse than ever now.
- [She takes a misstep and, with a scream, finds herself in tear-water up to her shoulders. After a few seconds, she recovers from the shock with a laugh. Suddenly enjoying her queer situation, Alice playfully swims off to explore the now-flooded garden]
- King of Hearts: Let the jury consider its verdict.
- Queen of Hearts: No, no. Sentence first, verdict afterwards.
- Alice: Stuff and nonsense, you can't have the sentence first.
- Queen of Hearts: Hold your tongue.
- Alice: I won't.
