The Godmothers

This film was included as a bonus feature on the 2023 Blu-ray special edition of director William Grefé's Impulse (1974), starring William Shatner. In an intro to the The Godmothers, Grefé says he was a director-for-hire on the film. Also according to Grefé, first-time producer Michael Viola was independently wealthy via his girlfriend and wanted to get into movies. He was so star struck by Mickey Rooney that he allowed Rooney to constantly rewrite the script and add scenes, much to Grefé's distraction, making him feel more like a traffic cop corralling all the comedians in the film.
