    Very good acting

Excellent acting comparing to 2015 miniseries. Love the movie. I don't know how the 2015 miniseries has much better score than this.

    Love Charles Aznavour piano scene.

    Pretty good mystery

This is a pretty good one,in my opinion certainly as good as the other 3,maybe even better.Filmed in both Spain and Iran, this version takes place in the vast expanse of the desert.Perhaps because it's so 1970's,I kind of favor it.The music in this in my opinion is expertly ominous, fitting in perfectly with the various scenes which keep the viewer guessing and in a state of intrigue.People seem to judge this one negatively alongside the standards they reserved for the 1966 version, but in my opinion this '74 one more than holds its own.All I can say is that Richard Attenborough is WONDERFUL!!! Oliver Reed and Elke Sommer give stellar performances, but Attenborough takes the prize and cake in this.

    Odd update of Christie's classic

This pretty mediocre remake has a very strange feel to it. The main reason for this is the setting. Filming was done in a very plush Iranian hotel and the film was set in the present day rather than the 1930's. The result is a rather kitsch 1970's thriller and it would be interesting to see what Agatha Christie thought of it. The story needs very few actors to perform in the film which explains the reason why the producers were able to afford such an impressive cast list on an obviously tight budget. Interestingly, Charles Aznavour makes an appearance and unnecessarily plugs his (then) new single during the after-dinner scene. Thankfully, we are spared from any more of his singing because he dies shortly afterwards. On a passing note, one of the most amusing death scenes in cinema history is provided by Richard Attenborough who plays the judge.

    An underrated film

I don't really understand why nobody likes this movie... I personally think it's awesome! I mean sure there is some bad acting, but I have not seen a version of TEN LITTLE INDIANS or AND THEN THERE WERE NONE that didn't have some bad acting. this movie is kinda like a well made B movie and a wonderful Version of Agatha Christie's book. I recommend this film to anyone who can find it (It took me years to find it and cost me fifty dollars.)

    Very gripping whodunit

After reading some of the other reviews here, I was not expecting much. So, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this whodunit kept me glued to my seat and guessing the whole way through. It had the right air about it of hidden danger and bewilderment. Taking it as a period piece; I think it's very fair to say that all of the performers gave credible performances, and I especially enjoyed Oliver Reed's portrayal of the sexy and debonair Hugh Lombard.

    • Trivia
Richard Attenborough was a late replacement for James Mason. Attenborough only took the role to get funding for Gandhi (1982) which would take another seven years before it went before the cameras.
    • Goofs
Although it is supposed to be night when the second victim is killed (darkness can be seen through the windows), it is clearly broad daylight during the exterior search scenes. Vera even mentions it is 'spooky at night'. These scenes were presumably filmed day-for-night, meaning they would be filtered during the editing process to give the impression of darkness. However, the filter was never added.

      U. N. Owen: Ladies and gentlemen, this is your host speaking. My name is U.N. Owen. I have brought you here to charge you with the following crimes: General André Salvé, Croix de Guerre, that you achieved honor from dishonor and sent five men to their certain deaths. Ilona Morgan, actress, that you did bring about the death of your husband in a most cold-blooded and ruthless manner. Doctor Edward Armstrong, that you did kill Mrs. Ivy Benson and betray your sacred trust. Michel Raven, entertainer, that you were guilty of the murder of William and Lisa Stern, whose bodies, when they were found, were almost unrecognizable. Vera Clyde, secretary, that you murdered your sister's fiancee, Richard Barclay, by slow, deliberate poison. Hugh Lombard, that you were guilty of the death of Jennifer Hayes, who was to bear your child. Arthur Cannon, judge of the Queen's bench, that you were responsible for the death of an innocent man, one Edward Seton, who was hanged according to your judgment. Wilhelm Blore, that by perjured testimony, you sent Kord Landor to a cold and lonely death in a prison cell. Otto and Elsa Martino, that you maliciously and brutally caused the death of your invalid employer for your own financial gain. Prisoners at the bar, have you anything to say in your defense?
