Kilma, reina de las amazonas

There are famous tales from Greek mythology' the Amazons warriors, limitless adaptations were made from this marvelous tribe, in this small Spanish picture, a new reading was made, where a ship was taken by the pirates, but the smart navigator gets away in a little boat reaching in a island where supposedly is uninhabited, but he found a cave nearby where has a skeleton and a huge supplies of the guns, powder and even a cannon.

Soon he saw a battle between the women warriors against a primitive tribe, the Amazons not only won the battle that banned them to the sea, the navigator called Robinson has his first meeting with Kilma, won't exactly friendly, but he ends up saves her from a big snake about to bite her, afterwards she send he away, due the island just allowed from womem, but Kilma falling in love, and to get worst the pirates are coming back, despite a low budge, careless production it's rather decent.

Kilma and her warriors are gorgeous, on sexy clothes and the mixing adventure and a good pinch of humor, letting the movie really enjoyable, l have a copy from internet's download very similar from VHS transfer, low quality, in all likelihood this picture never saw the light officially in Brazil, true a crying shame, allowed me an amazing pleasure to watch it !!!

"Kilma" combines two B-movie staples -- the one about the men stranded on a tropical island inhabited by beautiful women, and the one about the tribe of prehistoric women who wear bras and panties made out of animal fur. Two B's obviously don't make an A but "Kilma" is amusing in an unpretentious sort of way and has the kind of casual, unforced narrative drive which most current movies lack.

Frank Brana, (with a tilde over the "n"), makes a somewhat unlikely hero, being about 40 years old and a bit on the stout and hairy side, but there's a certain pleasure in seeing a leading man who doesn't have the face and body of a young Greek god. His beefcake scenes also feature some bondage since, at one point, he's forced down over a rock and whipped on the back, and later he's staked out face-up in spreadeagle style. (The whipping ranks 89th in the book: "Lash! The Hundred Great Scenes of Men Being Whipped in the Movies.")

The women are attractive but tend to be interchangeable.
