Pat
- [a grizzly cub has just been eaten by the grizzly]
- Ranger Michael Kelly: Whose stupid idea was it to use that cub as live bait?
- Pat: It was mine.
- Don Stober: That's the best kind of bait to use, Kelly.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: Yeah, it really doesn't make any difference anymore, does it?
- Tom: Anybody see it happen?
- Pat: Nah, she just grabbed up the cub that was it.
- Arthur Scott: We know one thing for sure.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: What's that?
- Arthur Scott: Our grizzly's a he instead of a she.
- Don Stober: Now how the hell do you know that, you've been peeking?
- Arthur Scott: Don't have to, only the males are cannibalistic. They'll eat a cub if they're hungry.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: Yeah, but does that help us Scotty?
- Arthur Scott: Sure does, he's gonna retrace his route. I mean, he's gonna come back to the scene of his crime.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: Well then, he still could be around here.
- Arthur Scott: He could be listening to us right now.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: Well if that's the case, maybe we can flush him out.
- Pat: Can we help?
- Ranger Michael Kelly: Yeah, but we go by the book. Everyone follows orders.
- Pat: You call the shots, mister.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: What's your name?
- Pat: Pat.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: Okay Pat, you and the rest of the guys go up in the north ridge, that's Pinto Pass
- Mike: I know where it is.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: All right, we're gonna spead and hold the line at Culvert Basin. Now if he comes down, that's where he's coming down.
- Don Stober: Hey listen, y'all boys come down that ridge, kinda make like a war party, make a lot of noise, will you? Maybe that grizzly will head towards us, then.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: All right we'll expect you to be in place and ready to go at daybreak. Yeah, let's get with it.
- Arthur Scott: Okay.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: Tom, you're not gonna be going with us.
- Tom: What? You're not leaving me out of this man, no way.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: I'm not leaving you out of anything. I'm assigning you the Arrow Tower.
- Tom: Don't do me any favors. Look, I can handle myself down here.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: Will you cool off and listen? Now, you know how thick it is down here. Now from up there, you might be able to spot him, and you might get a crack at him.
- Tom: Yeah, and I might just get left out of this whole damn thing.
- Ranger Michael Kelly: Tom, you're not gonna be left out of anything, okay?
