Its bad, like honestly not even funny bad

"Dorf on Golf" (1987) is a painfully unfunny comedy disaster starring Tim Conway. The film's humor hinges on repetitive, lowbrow slapstick gags that quickly wear thin. With a plot as flimsy as a paper-thin slice of Swiss cheese, the movie drags through a series of uninspired skits lacking any cohesive narrative. The production quality is abysmal, and the jokes feel dated and uninspired. Conway's portrayal of Dorf is cartoonishly exaggerated, making it difficult to watch. Overall, "Dorf on Golf" is a tedious and shallow attempt at comedy, failing to hit the mark on every level.

    Dorf should stick to golf

Dorf is funny in golf (at least in the two golf videos he's done), but he really is not funny in the other sports.

Perhaps, this is because golf has a stigma that bad golfers can still play the game (even with a horrendous handicap) and that golfers with nearly do anything to improve their game.

Well, Dorf does it all, he has gadgets and gismos, he has a stupid catty, that actually disproves his game (so much so that he was replaced for the other video), and he has a bomb shell vixen whom helps (or hinders his presentation).

Dorf should definitely stick to golf because his antics are funny on the linxs, but rather dry on either the diamond, the water, or in other sports.

Only from the mind of TimConway

This is a one-of-a-kind thing, a sight gag gone berserk. Loved Tim Conway for years in McHale & with Carol B, Harvey & Vicki, this is like the icing on the cake. If for anything just to bring him together with the late Vincent Schiavelli for this short little ditty which did as much for golf pros of America as anything with the possible exception of Tiger (golf instruction increased a whopping 17% within three months of the release of this video, but the following is probably one of the all- time best rim shots... "Leonard, why don't you consider getting to bed a little early tonight? You wouldn't want to miss a visit from the IQ fairy."

I'll tell you what, why don't you run over there and get yourself a tuna fish sandwich? I hear that-a fish is-a real good for de brain.

Tim Conway played the Dorf, the golf expert. The episode is about Dorf on the golf course with Vincent Schiavelli as his caddy. The episode was shot on location and I recall Dorf videos were available only on VHS. I don't recall them airing on television. Tim Conway is enjoyable as always in this role. While the episode isn't too long, there are good laughs along the way. He can make golfing interesting to me and that's something.

    Silly fun.

Tim Conway was a very funny guy. I was lucky enough to see him live with Harvey Korman back in 2004 (Westbury, NY). It was a great show. His "Dorf on Golf" video is also funny. I guess it's more silly than funny. It certainly has a lot of '80s straight-to-video charm to it. Because of its short running time( 30 minutes), "Dorf on Golf" is definitely worth a watch.

Dorf: Leonard will of course, be selecting the right club for me, and giving me some information on the course itself. Right, Leonard?

      Leonard: Huh?

Dorf: The club, Leonard, the club! You'll be giving me information about the course, and selecting the right club.

      Leonard: Club's over there.

      Dorf: Leonard, that's the clubHOUSE.

      Leonard: It's pretty, isn't it?

      Dorf: [sarcastically] Isn't it, though?
