- Orrin Gateway: [tapping on the roof of Earl's truck] There he is!
- [Earl drives over to the area and parks the car; he, Orrin, Big Al, and Unger exit the truck with their guns]
- Orrin Gateway: I've seen his face. Right there, Al. Right there in the bushes.
- [the bushes move and all four men open fire]
- Earl: Come on.
- [They all rush to the bushes and discover they have mistakenly shot and killed an innocent man]
- Unger: Shit, Earl. It's Ted Hollister.
- Earl: [to Orrin] You dumb son of a bitch. You said you saw Myers.
- Rachel Carruthers: We have to get out of Haddonfield. The state police are on their way. Let them handle it.
- Unger: I don't know about you, Earl, but that makes sense to me. Let's get the hell out!
- Big Al: We've got a police station. Let the troopers have him. That's what they get paid for.
- Earl: Screw it. Let's get out of here.
- Sheriff Meeker: Let it be, Earl. Let the police handle it.
- Earl: Like the last time? How many people killed back then? How many kids?
- Earl: Ben, what the Sam Hell is going on?
- Sheriff Meeker: Go on home, Earl. This is police business.
- Earl: Looks like to me you're out of business. Now I want some answers.
- Sheriff Meeker: I haven't got the time or patience to argue with you. Now go home to your families where you belong.
- Dr. Loomis: It was Michael Myers. He's come home to kill.
- Sheriff Meeker: Let it be, Earl. Let the police handle it
- Earl: Like the last time? How many people killed back then? How many kids? Al here, lost his boy 10 years back. Well, not this time, Ben. I'll handle this my own way. We're gonna fry his ass
- [pumps shotgun and drives off with the other rednecks]
- Sheriff Meeker: Son of a bitch, you just created a lynch mob!
- Dr. Loomis: You haven't got a police force! These men may be the only defense you've got.
