Sadly Another Lost Silent Film

Sadly, the 1921 film BY RIGHT OF BIRTH is one of many films that are now considered lost. The only surviving material is about four minutes worth of scenes, which can be viewed on Kino's Pioneers of African-American Cinema release.

I've read this was a love story but sadly these four minutes don't really contain enough to fully show you or tell you what the plot was. We see a woman fall off her horse and a man comes to the rescue. I'm going to guess this here was the meeting of the leads. We also get another clip showing an eviction warning as well as another dealing with a couple people trying to get a signature on a piece of paper.

Obviously there's not enough here to fully judge the film but until a print turns up I'm thankful we've at least got these four minutes to watch.
