Up to Mars

Throw out anything astronomically accurate. Bimbo gets shot into space on a fireworks rocket. He lands on Mars and meets the inhabitants. They are all manner of aberrations. They do things the opposite of here on earth. It is a visual delight with some fun music. Bimbo is a good foil for everything.

THE STORY & GENRE -- Bimbo takes a trip to the red planet and meets a bevy of ridiculous characters. Fleischer Studio cartoon.

THE VERDICT -- This tries too hard to be both weird and musical, and therefore comes off as self-conscious rather than hallucinogenic. Not the best animation either. I'll give it a 3.5.
