Angel's Tide

I didn't know what to expect from this movie. It caught my attention right away. It had this really cool 90's vibe. The main actress is gorgeous! She has such a lovely voice and mannerisms. I'm not a movie pro or anything. I just know that I liked it. It had a flow to it. Seemed very realistic. I really understood how the main character felt. Don't want to give anything away. This movie still sits with me. I will watch it again. The cinematography. The music. Is that Frank Burns as her dad??? Wow. He was awesome. The lovely, little Angel of death was so foreboding and comforting at the same time. What can I say? You have to see it for yourself.

I really appreciated the complexities of this story. A woman learns that she has a very short time to live and with that comes a slew of psychological short wirings that cause compulsive behavior. Over eating sweets, stealing, hoarding and manically seeking sexual attention makes a very hard character role to play. The lead actress nailed the desperate and antsy undercurrent that drives this role. It's hard to play mania and be realistic because obsessive behavior in real life is so unrealistic. The lead actress was able to show the under currents of this behavior. What touched me about this story was that I could see that it was the physical pain that drove her to wild behavior. I will remember this independent film.
