Georgie and the Dragon

Quite simply one of the funniest cartoons ever made. When young Georgie brings home a baby dragon, his mother takes it in stride, but Georgie's highly excitable father is another matter, and he and the dragon just can't stay out of each other's way. This little comic gem is way overdue for re-discovery on video; what's taking Columbia Pictures so long?!

Georgie his with his parents on a bit of rock with a lighthouse atop it. He finds a dragon. It's a very small dragon, so he takes it home and asks if he can have a pet. His father says no. Cats are filthy creatures. As the dragon grows larger and larger, and breathes fire too, Georgie has to work hard to hide it.

For no reason at all, Robert Cannon has directed this one-shot for UPA with the characters all very Scottish, with the mother knitting a plaid, and father wearing a tam. It's pure fun, with the gags and situations perfectly timed.
