The Runaways

This film might be a remake of 'Some Like it Hot' but it is very enjoyable to say the least. Some remakes are good, this one surely is. It has Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh and Paintal in leading roles and the perfect combination of comedy and drama. The film is about two friends Dev and Salim who witness a murder. They are forced to run away (rafoo chakkar) and join an all girl band dressed up as women. What follows is a hilarious comedy of errors. This film will surely keep you engaged till the very end and will leave you laughing.

Watched this movie in 1975 in pinky theater andheri which was than a chawl like theater I was five years old than. Every minute of this movie is entertaining, as a five year old with not much knowledge of films I still enjoyed it, the image of the song picturised on neetu & rishi in kashmir with complete green landscape remained with me for years. As a five years old with no knowledge of music I loved the songs I wonder how, today I see the songs really are hits even after so many years, so my judgement as a kid was right. The story, acting, songs, comedy , direction everything is full entertainment. I watched it again on TV, no actor looked so beautiful like rishi did in girl's get up, neetu was great, beautiful bubbly charming. Rajendra nath, asrani, paintal thank you for making a five year old kid enjoy your comedy. I think Ranbir & Aliya should watch this movie.
