Slayers Return

This is incredible. Nobody in this movie has a single thought in their heads.

Lina and Naga run across something with a Nuclear Waste "Nothing of honor is stored here" warning message and decide it's in their best interest to help dig it up.

This is nothing but an hour of non-stop collateral damage and people making the most absurd, chaotic decisions possible. Things rarely go according to plan and watching these dopes have to improvise is most of the fun.

And there are so many dopes this time around. Lina and Naga are joined by a whole squad across the hero-villain spectrum who are just as dumb as they are. Everybody gets at least one moment to show off what they can do.

It never takes itself seriously for even a moment. It's just simple, silly fun.

I have yet to be disappointed by anything Slayers. The series is one of my very favorites, up there with Cowboy Bebop, Dirty Pair, and the original Bubblegum Crisis. When I first saw Slayers: The Motion Picture I was a little wary due to the fact that everyone from the series was gone except for Lina, but it turned out to be a pretty fresh approach to the show.

If you liked Slayers: The Motion Picture or any of the other Lina/Naga pair-ups (Book of Spells, Great) I can see no reason why you wouldn't like this one. If you're a fan of the series but haven't yet seen any of the OVA's, I'd recommend watching The Motion Picture first just to be properly introduced to Naga, but you certainly wouldn't be too confused. There's no continuity between this and the other OVA's other than the presence of Naga, and she's not too hard to figure out.

If you're totally new to Slayers, I'd recommend checking out the original series first if possible. Still, even if you knew nothing about master sorceress Lina Inverse, I think that this disk would stand on its own fairly well.

I have never watched any of the Slayers series, except for a few episodes in Italian off Youtube, but I knew that as soon as I saw those episodes, I needed more. So, I ordered the Movie Box set, and when it came in, I was very satisfied with that it gave to me. Slayers Return is a funny tale about two sorceresses, Lina Inverse and Naga the Serpent, who get on not too well, who are asked to rid a village from the grip of a group consisting of of not too many people... I won't spoil anything, but the twists in Slayers Return are unexpected, and would make anyone laugh. Especially the monster at the end...it was so random, LOL.

10 out of 10; watch this and the other four movies; I rate them in this order, from worst to best; 1,3,2,4,5. Enjoy!

Esperava mais, ele é muito bom para crianças.Senti falta de Zelgadis, Amelia e Gourry. Expected more, he's very good for kids. I missed Zelgadis, Amelia and Gourry.
