"Held up like a loofa, by the foreman of the night"

This show had exactly one truly brilliant sketch, involving a group of guys trying to decypher the lyrics to Blinded by the Light. Honestly one of the funniest things I've seen (does ANYONE actually know the real lyrics?). Other than than that, it was mostly surreal sketch comedy firmly rooted in The Kids in the Hall territory. Unfortunatly it wasn't nearly as funny as The Kids...

Hit-and-Miss Comedy From The Makers of Kids In The Hall

It was like Lorne Michaels was trying for a second stab at "Kids In The Hall"s success. This short-lived Canadian series (featuring KITH's Mark McKinney's younger lookalike brother Nick) was perhaps a little *too* much like its predecessor to have solo success. Sketches were very much hit and miss, although some comic gems shone through. Some were too bizarre or too lengthy but high production values and excellent comic performaces made every episode watchable. The original songs featured throughout episodes were especially good.

Where are they now? Well, Paul Greenberg is often spotted in bit parts (most notably "As Good As It Gets" as a waiter), Nick McKinney writes for Michael Moore's series "The Awful Truth", Vito Viscomi is script editor for MTV's "Tom Green Show" and Rob Gfroerer wrote and appeared with Vito Viscomi and Paul Greenberg in the dire "Jenny McCarthy Show" on MTV.

If it ever resurfaces, check it out. It's worth at least half an hour of your time if you are a KITH fan.

I slept on my arms last night...

    I loved this show.

Like Kids in the Hall, it was a little bit hit and miss, but when it was funny, it was hilarious.

I haven't seen it for years and years, but I still laugh at that "Blinded by the Light" sketch.

There was a great song they did, too, about a guy who wanted to kill himself, but he'd slept on his arms & he had no feeling in them.

Not Kids In The Hall... But Still Good!

This was a good and funny sketch series that was sadly very short lived. I remember watching it on CBC and enjoying it. They had some cute sketches, a few good songs, some good laughs... I bet this show would have stuck around longer if it didn't have to follow the huge cult hit that was The Kids In The Hall, because not many shows would be able to live up to that kind of success...

Short Lived but Fun and Unique

This was a very unique and fun sketch comedy show that only lasted one short season on CBC. The sketch group was somehow related to Kids in the Hall, I think a couple of them were brothers or something, and they had some funny music videos and good sketches. It was similar to Kids in the Hall but not quite as funny and didn't make the same impact so this show just did not last. Too bad because it was a good show!
