    How I loved it

This has been aired on Swedish television twice, 1981 and later in 1984 as one of the shows on "Sommarmorgon" (Summer morning), a program for kids during the summer.

It's about a bunch of kids who run away into the forest and live inside a hollow tree. Adventures and excitement await. I'm afraid I can't remember much more but it was a long time ago. I still remember how good it made me feel though and how I built a small hut in the forest that summer.

Me and my wife still talks about it and now when we are adults and soon having our first child we want a DVD release so our child will be able to get see this wonderful series.

Harold, played by Paul Erangey, is a very good friend of mine!

Paul Erangey, who played the character Harold, in the mini series Brendon Chase , is actually a very good friend of mine. He had often told me about how he was a child actor when living in England, but honestly, I had never seen the show, and happened to be browsing through the imdb website, and did a search on it, and WHALA!! I quickly informed Paul about his name appearing under the film , as a member of the cast, and he was exstatic!! He noticed however, that there is no mention of all the other things he had accomplished in his acting career ( film , T.V., and Stage). Not to mention, there was no photo of him, nor a cast photo of the show Brendon Chase... I told him that he should submit as much as possible about the show and himself. Hopefully, you will be seeing a bit more information about the actor Paul Erangey in the near future. He is a fine actor and a great friend!!!!

    Sincerly, Scott Christpoher

    Brendon Chase revisited

I really enjoyed this TV. series the cast, location script were all great.based on the book by BB the show does the book credit.A friend got a copy of video so it was great to see again.I was advised by itv that TV-time-warp.co.auk have the series on their website.I believe the location for filming was around the new forest.I have been a big fan of BB and was first made aware of him on seeing The little grey men.a TV series made by Anglia TV.I have read his other books. It would be great if the show could be shown again so that new generation of viewers could enjoy it.On a sad note Harold played by Paul Erangey died in 2004 his memory will live on in the form of this great British show.It would be great if other cast members would also recall any memories and stories on the production.I believe Liza Goddard met her husband to be David Cobham while the show was being filmed.BB,s100th celebrations took place in 2005.he leaves a beautiful book and a great series for generations to come.in memory of BB 1905-2005

    Marvellous piece of boyhood fantasy

After seeing a couple of episodes of this i tried to scuff out the back door, having nicked my fathers soft air rifle, and a packed a bag with necessities; all in haste. It was summertime, and he caught me... I dropped the rifle in the deep grass or something, in order to hide it...cant remember. What I do remember is that i really broke some sweat trying to cover up my wild fantasies; to not have em destroyed by some grown ups devastating, overseeing smile or explanation. I must have been around 10.

That is what this series did to me and not just me but a lot of same aged boys that i hang around with at the time. I really can say that it asserted the beginning of some kind of wild independence and dream, that i think that I've since then have nurtured inside. And I learned...we all did, my friends and I, about nature, about emancipation and empathy and stuff that we really couldn't spell or even pronounce then. It completely fit our lives as a childhood version of a voluntary Robinson Crusoe or even Robin Hood, if you take away the robbery from the last. About the only other tale that have given rise to those excited youngster feelings in me, although in later years and then in retrospect, is John Boormans "Hope and Glory".

The story starts like this: three brothers are sent away to a dull existence on a summer vacation, during the 1920s. Being fed up they take their voluntary refuge to a large wooded area, where they manage to start a new life; atoned to nature.

The vote is for my memories of the series. Pictures still linger in my brain.

    Nostalgia at its finest :)

First of all: I rate this show with 8/10 partly because it is very nostalgic for me as I discovered it as a child and watched it for the fourth time in about 10 years, now. Therefore, it is possible that you would not rank it that high without all the good memories in regards to past watch sessions.

Basically, the show just shows the three Hensman boys Robin, John and Harold who run away from their aunt's mansion and into the nearby forest Brendon Chase. There we see their adventures and how they come along with living together in the wild. Ofc as a children's show it does not go very deep, but the aspects of this life shown really take you away into a fantasy every person must have had once or more times in their childhood.

The show depicts all three boys' journey to developing responsibility for one self and each other.

Sergeant Bunting and Ms. Hurling also present a slight version of criticism of police and press media. But foremost, they add comedic elements and kind of tension to the show and this is totally sufficient for the story the show wants to tell.

Every episode also includes great pictures of Brendon Chase's wildlife which reminds of nature documentaries' establishing shots. Every single one of those shots could be printed and sold as a beautiful image.

At last: Smokey's rescue is one of 70s TV's most wholesome endings :)
