Lizzie's friends want her to go blackberry picking on a Sunday morning, but she has to look after her little brother in his pram. So she leaves the pram in the care of the Witch so she can go with them.
Lizzie's father fixes a leak for a neighbour on Boxing Day and gets paid in seeds from a prize winning leek as he has no money after Christmas. So starts a competition between the two neighbours to grow the prize winning leeks for the next year.
