This is a good watch overall - a typical bollywood masala movie. Decent acting by the cast .... starting with Jeetu n Sridevi...great comedy by Kadar Khan and Amjad Khan ( inspite of being cast in negative roles)

Good songs n dances n a fairly engaging plot. Great music by Bappida, n entertaining songs n dances

This was Jeetus biggest success in a long career with many hits ( n many flops too). This was also Sri's launchpad to stardom....

The 2013 remake (which was more of a failed spoof) made a mess of this 1983 film which is overall a good package. Watch it to relive the 1980s n get entertained.

Himmatwala is an action comedy film directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and stars an ensemble cast of Jeetendra, Late Sridevi, Late Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Waheeda Rahman, Asrani, Arun Govil, Shoma Anand, Swaroop Sampat, Late Satyendra Kapoor and Late Amjad Khan.

An engineer returns to his village after a long gap and promises to restore his father's lost reputation. Meanwhile, the egoistic and spoilt daughter of his enemy, falls in love with him changes into a good soul and helps him trick her father.

The film which is more famous for the iconic Jeetandra's step in the songs such as "Nainon Mein" and "Taki O Taki" has a decent mixture of comedy and action and have to admit that both Amjad Khan and Kader Khan were hilariously funny considering the fact that they were portraying negative roles.

The plot of the film is simple revenge drama but has a good mixture of comedy which will keep you engaged throughout, most of the songs of the film are good but the subplots of the film disturbs the pace.

Acting in the film is good and the film will always be remembered for the superb comedy by the great Kader and Amjad Khan. Jeetendra and Sridevi were also good and impressive and is beautifully supported by the rest of the cast.

Songs as mentioned in the film is good and screenplay could've been made little trimmed and the film could've been little shorter. The climax of the film is predictable.

Can be watched once for some of the great comedy and some catchy dance numbers.

A great film made in Madras, I thought they make Tamil films only but no that not true. Its a worth watching film and Ragu is a great director. I heard the song of the movie but not seen the movie but when I saw the first time its so brilliant, with great performance and music, dance numbers. It is just great to watch Sridevi dance along with Jeetu. The rest cast is amazing in their roles and cinematography captures beautiful locations amazingly and I loved this film since I watched on DVD. Its 8 out of 10. And one of Jeetu's best work ever. Bappi Lahiri have given a great music for the film. The singers have done great job also.

This movie Himmatwala was a blockbuster of 1983, from this movie Kader khan commercial value increased and even his popularity as comedian, Sri Devi too re-launched after failure pairing with Amol Palikar in Solva Sawan it is 100% entertaining movie for Jeetenra Sri Devi fans performance wise Jeetendra is on top he always gives his best performances, his emotional scene with Waheeda Rehman superb and he excel in dance numbers,his dressing sense from his early films till his retirement over all on top , This movie was a trend setter for different type of comedy and later on lot of movies follows the footstep of this movie. over all it is considered a 100% entertaining movie of Jeetendra Sri Devi hit pair.

A village is terrorized by a rich man (Amjad Khan) and his daughter, until the school- teacher's son (Jeetendra) returns with a degree to construct a dam and he tames the daughter (sridevi).

A serviceable entertainer about one man righting the wrongs in the village and fighting for justice. Though there are some dishoom-dishoom(fights), Jeetendra as the hero mainly uses his guile and morally-infused dialogues to bring the villains to book. The film starts out slow but progresses gradually in to an engaging entertainer that on the surface looks like a glossy excuse for Sridevi and jumping Jack jeetendra to bust their moves to some hit songs, but look deeper and it's a strong moral play about justice and good behaviour, all coated with a strong South Indian flavour.
