Based on the Novel

There is a reason why this film deserves a 10, and much more credit and attention than it has had. Comedies never go into the depth of human character or intricate plot lines. Nor are they the place for creative art direction. But this film has all! Granted, most characters are caricatures. But the actors have added finesse to their work, for instance when the assistant director asks if the actress would mind if there is SEX in the film and the word comes out as a squeaky craving for her body. With another candidate, the film cuts over immediately to BANG, BANG, BANG, three sex positions and we end up with a cigarette and it's over. Hilarious sleazebags who are not in it to make a movie at all. Even more than 10 years later, I still look back at it and I think about the funny scenes and quotes. I'd like to see it again.

A comedy where you are kept guessing about which if any of the three actresses the sleazy director will get to bed. The director and the ditzy Noor are caricatures but Julia and Sophie are a bit more interesting. I liked the side story about Julia or Sophie (can't remember which) and her Moroccan boyfriend. She puts him through a number of tests to find out if he is politically correct enough for her and ends up proving he has what she doesn't, ethics.

In the end all the characters get what they deserve.

Nadja Hüpscher (Noor) is one of the actresses that wants to play a part in a movie. Her wonderful way of acting an inexperienced, clumsy actress is one of the best I've seen so far in a dutch movie. Watch out for this girl. The movie tells a story about a sexually frustrated filmmaker who is more interested in getting the actresses undressed than to give them a part in his movie. The biggest joke of this comedy is that all of the actresses that play in it, finally get undressed in the movie itself. As if the director of this movie plays himself.

This movie is dutch film at its best. Its simple, funny throughout, entertaining and very well acted (especially sweet honeybee Nadja Hupscher). Believe me, it's hard to find dutch movies that come close to this (except for 'zusje'). Thank you Eddy.

A bit of a weird movie, with funny comments and many cameo's (Matthijs van Heijningen, Eddy Terstall himself, Mike van Diem, Diewertje Blok and many others). Definitly not his best movie, although the cast is virtually similair to all his other flicks. I loved 'Rent-A-Friend" and "Hufters en Hofdames", definitly some of the funniest dutch movies ever made, but I enjoyed "Boekverfilming" at most points. Some absurb scenes and dialogs keep it fresh, because the story is a bit thin. But still, nice comedy.
