Foursome

Whether this was originally intended as a spoof, it comes over as a rare British example of the straightforward exploitation films being made in the US at the time, with a succession of sex scenes interspersed now and then with beating-ups, and with the same rock bottom production values. Made by a very small crew on a tiny budget, all credits had been removed from the version under review. Most memorable is veteran actress Rose Alba, playing the kind of predatory landlady usually essayed in more respectable productions by the likes of Yootha Joyce, who has her robe off and the stolid hero into bed in the first few minutes.

This Movie was originally a parody of "X"rated films, called "Sweet and Sexy". It has been badly re-edited and soundtracked. This "Foursome" is a very misleading title. I saw the original,that was not great, in my estimation, but who would've thought that it could have been worse? Somehow, they managed. The "canned" soundtrack is hard on the ears and nerves. The humor gets lost along with the story. How one could take a simple amusing story, and edit the "amusing" out is beyond me.
