- Mozo: [Grundel sulks, dipping his fingers in the water. Mozo appears and speaks in a teasing tone] Hey bro...
- Grundel: Go away!
- Mozo: Pond Doc has said Thumbelina give you the slip, and is going to marry a fairy prince.
- Grundel: [Stands up] What fairy prince?
- Mozo: Ho ho ho! You'll not be able to show your ugly face on the stage no more.
- Gringo: Everybody laugh at you!
- Grundel: Nobody laugh!
- [Mozo and Gringo laugh]
- Grundel: I said nobody laughs!
- [They laugh even harder]
- Grundel: I go get Thumbelina and bring her back!
- [They laugh uncontrollably, and an enraged Grundel throws them up in the air]
- Grundel: I marry her!
- [He storms off, leaving Mozo and Gringo laughing their heads off]
- Mr. Beetle: Let go of my arm! Where are we going?
- Grundel: We go to rescue Thumbelina from the mole.
- Mr. Beetle: Mole? Are you outta your mind? I'm not goin' down there! Do you know what he does to beetles who go down there? Do ya have any idea what he does to 'em? He stuffs them. He stuffs them and he pins 'em on his walls!
- Grundel: [inspecting the frozen Cornelius] He looks dead.
- Mr. Beetle: Dead? Dead, schmed! What difference does it make?
- Grundel: You killed him.
- Mr. Beetle: Okay, okay, have it your way. I killed him. There, you satisfied? Forget the prince, all right?
- [Grundel clutches Beetle's throat]
- Mr. Beetle: Can I explain something...?
- Grundel: What?
- Mr. Beetle: [coughing] Look, I don't know where she is. We didn't hit it off too good, so I, uh, I let her go. She's not my type. She's an ugly type. I don't like ugly.
- [Grundel hits Beetle over the head]
- Grundel: [stomping on Beetle's foot] She is beautiful!
- Mr. Beetle: [in pain] Whatever you say.
