I was watching TV, wishing in vain for Homicide: Life on the Street to be on. Instead, I stumbled upon this movie and found Homicide's Kyle Secor in this LAME TV-movie-of-the-week-type flick about a female stalker. I was glad to watch Kyle because he's great in whatever he does, but I was so sad that he was stuck in such a STUPID "movie." I knew what everyone's next moves were going to be and I really couldn't stand it. It's hard to like anyone here (w/ the exception of Kyle). He deserves a new TV show and/or a few independent movie projects. What a great actor, but what a trite movie. If you want to see some blistering acting, watch reruns of H:LOTS.

Courtney Thorne-Smith stars as a small town beauty queen that has a few problems of the mental kind. She has an obsession for a man who already has a longtime girlfriend. She will stop at nothing to get him and keep him forever.
One thing that is hard to accept is that someone as pretty as Courtney Thorne Smith would throw themselves after a man like that. Other than that it's quite a watchable movie. A beauty queen Miss Dairy something sets her sights on a farmer. But he has a Girlfriend. Even though she briefly steals him away he goes back to his old girlfriend. So the pretty wacko gets homicidal.
Courtney is great over the top wacko. Worth a watch.

This film is representative of the whole cheesy TV-Movie Genre. Mad beauty queen chases the most clueless farmer in 3 counties. Only reason to see this movie is to see the stellar acting of Kyle Secor as Kevin Reece (clue-less farmer). The chemistry between the two lovebirds, Kevin and fiance, Beth (played by Tracy Gold) was just not there at all but off the charts between the Dairy Queen (Courtney Thorne-Smith) and Kevin. This movie boils down to one thing and one thing only - Bad girl tries to steal good girls boyfriend by hook, crook, tractor-death and strangulation. The entire thing was predictable and trite, give me "Homicide:Life on the Street" any day over dreck like this.
I watched this movie when it first aired in the fall of 1995 on NBC and since I have viewed it again many times on Lifetime or either the Lifetime Movie Network. Courtney Thorne-Smith is at her best probably the strongest performance of her career and certainly at her sexy best. Courtney showed no flaws at all as an obsessed beauty queen from the midwest who will stop at nothing until she wins the man of her dreams (Kyle Secor) even if it means destroying his true love (Tracey Gold) and finally the obsession becomes murder as one by one it is just her and Kyle. Not only is Courtney at her evil best in this movie but her beauty shows all. That hot scene with Courtney in a reddish maroon bra and panties with Kyle Secor on the bed was great! Now talk about Courtney having hanes her way! Watch this sometime on Lifetime or Lifetime Movie Network it airs often you will enjoy!

- TriviaWhile much artistic license was taken in the making of this movie, it is based on the 1989 murder of Lisa Cihaski in Wausau, Wisconsin by 20-year old Lori Esker. Esker's boyfriend, Bill Buss, broke off his relationship with her and began dating Cihaski and they became engaged. Esker left school one night, drove 150 miles to Cihaski's workplace, and strangled her with a belt--Cihaski's own belt. Esker removed Cihaski's engagement ring from her finger and drove back to school in River Falls. Esker pleaded self defense, but the act of strangulation showed intent. She was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in 1990. As in the movie, Esker was the Dairy Princess; Cihaski was a former Homecoming Queen.

Cheryl Ann Davis: You really don't remember me do you?
Beth: Should I?
Cheryl Ann Davis: We went to school together. I was a cheerleader.
Beth: Oh right, wasn't that the year that I was class president? Still shaking your pom-poms I see.
Cheryl Ann Davis: Those who got 'em, shake 'em.
