Burial of the Rats
The assailants are a group of women who are ruled over by a queen (Adrienne Barbeau). The queen has taught a group of rats to devour their enemies. Bram is destined to become rat food, but one of the women has sympathy for him since he was trying to protect his father, so he lucks out and the queen keeps him alive.
Eventually, the women take Bram with them on their outings and he starts writing about their escapades. Soon they initiate him into their group.
Burial of the Rats is a low budget Roger Corman production. It's most notable for featuring Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog, Creepshow) and Maria Ford (Deathstalker 4, Naked Obsession).
This is a movie I would have enjoyed to act in.

- TriviaAdrienne Barbeau mentions in her auto-biography that she partly took the role because she had always wanted to visit Russia.
