    Predictable Lifetime-feel thriller

This film plays much like those Lifetime, Showtime or straight to video films in the 1990's with a mix of erotic thriller and suspense. The cover art very much describes and says an lot about the film and the time period of when it was made.

The story is entirely predictable and we know in the end there will be a reveal or twist. We are watching to see how it unfolds. And the twist was ruined by viewing the "Plot Keywords" section tab on IMDB (would not recommend viewing to avoid spoilers). Even without knowing, it comes very late in the film (reveal roughly around 1:24:00).

The main issue is the portrayal and actions of the characters. Mainly the girlfriend Julie. She was the one who insisted on taking the deserted stranger woman Connie to meet her boyfriend and their family despite knowing much about her. She saw her in the marine uniform yet assumed she was trustworthy and that she should guide her (we the audience know she isn't who she's portraying- as she stole the uniform off the actual marine sergeant).

Yet as the film progresses, Julie became more suspicious of Connie and seems to blame everyone and gets increasingly jealous- yet she was the one who essentially introduced Connie to the family.

Along the way, there is a bizarre and not very well explain subplot with Connie and some guy named Mike. Which were easily the weakest scenes of the film.

The plot is simply basic and besides the final reveal- which was a way to make things more interesting nothing quite stands out. There are a few brief explicit scenes with the lead (Kate Vernon- whom slightly resembles Charlize Theron) showing skin.

Overall it's a time passer thriller minus the thrills and true suspense. The film is somewhat reminiscent of the Guest (2014) except of course not as good and it stars a woman opposed to a man.

    I own this movie

Like the previous posters, the movie starts of EXCELLENT then tapers off. Tom's girlfriend is ANNOYING as hell which is why I can't empathise with her insecurities about her and Toms' future. She is about as nutty as the main character.

Kaye/Connie was an excellent character, but the gratuitous sex scenes are really unnecessary.

I am always happy to see Margot Kidder working but her role in this movie isn't one of her best works.

If you like campy cheesy movies this is the one for you. It DOES hold your attention no matter how many times you have seen it to the end so that is why I rate it a four.

    Such an awful movie!

Hard to believe Patrick Dempsey took this role! This movie has almost no redeeming qualities. Worst part of the movie would be Mike or Connie. Their scenes together make the movie difficult to watch. The actress who played Connie... oof. Horrible!

I'll say I didn't see that ending coming, and don't quite understand what Connie's plan actually was. It got very messy and didn't make much sense. Anyway, no good!

typical TV thriller but with a bit of nudity

This flick is still unreleased on DVD or Blu Ray and that's weird because it got some names in it that aren't unknown for fans of horror or science-fiction. Margot Kidder (Evelyn) we know from Black Christmas (1974) and Superman (1978). Kate Vernon we all knew from Battlestar Galactica the remake as Ellen Tigh or earlier from Pretty In Pink (1986). In fact I can go on and on, some went to Transformers or Land Of The Dead, all genre flicks.

Even the director, Jorge Montesi, went further into series mostly concerning science-fiction. This flick here had nothing to do with horror or science-fiction, in fact, it's low on everything but the story is well written en due the directing you keep watching until the end to know what is going on.

When a soldier dies, suddenly in front of the grieving family appears a girl who says she 's the lover of the unfortunate soldier. The take her into their house and slowly her mystery is solved. Towards the end it got out of hand but being a television flick it's low on the red stuff, surprisingly it do had some nudity and not the least, Kate Vernon goes all the way and even shows her pubic hair. I guess that they tried to use the success of erotic thrillers like Basic Instinct (1992).

I liked it and maybe for some it's a hunt down to go back on memory lane with all those names from yesterdays. Only available on NTSC ex rental VHS.

    Utterly repulsive

This movie was absolutely disgusting. Typical C list movie but with a disgusting plot twist that had half sibling incest and a kiss plotted on the main character Mothers mouth by the villain/daughter that made it so much very worse. I'm so confused as to what I just watched and had I known prior to the beginning, I'd had never even attempted. It wasn't even that bad in the beginning, though mediocre and predictable of a Lifetime movie, this had all the potential of perhaps a tubi special but in the end couldn't even pull that off, For ME. I'm an addict for love triangles and illicit affair movies. I draw the line at this type of movie. I'm sure others might enjoy this type of incestuous nonsense, but it's far from entertaining IMO.

When the character purchases beer in the variety store he tosses a case of Formosa beer over his shoulder. This beer is made by the Brick Brewing Company of Waterloo Ontario Canada. Obviously filmed in the province of Ontario, it's worth noting that beer cannot be purchased in variety stores in that province to this day.
