Annie
- Glen: Where's Elvis?
- Annie: I don't know. I told him to stay up on the beach. Oh, no.
- Glen: What?
- Annie: I broke a promise.
- Glen: What promise?
- Annie: [runs back to camp] I even did a spit-shake on it.
- Glen: You did a spit-shake with somebody?
- Annie: [to the witnesses standing in the crowd] Excuse me.
- Glen: Man, that's serious.
- Jesse: What's going on you guys?
- Annie: Well, um, Dwight has just told us that they found you're mom in New York City and um... I'm afraid she's passed away.
- [the unexpected news stuns Jesse with shock and confusion]
- Jesse: She died?
- Dwight: I'm really sorry.
- Jesse: [upset] I should have tried to find her.
- Dwight: Well, she didn't want to be found, son.
- Glen: There's nothing you could've done.
- Dwight: Your mom still needs your help Jesse because she left somebody behind. You have a brother.
- Jesse: What?
- Dwight: He's a half-brother actually. He's eight years old.
- Annie: [places her hand on Jesse] Jess...
- Jesse: [shrugs off Annie and leaves the house] Don't touch me. Just-Just leave me alone. I don't want a brother you guys. I want my mom.
- Jesse: What's he look like?
- Annie: Different. Come down and find out for yourself.
- Jesse: I don't want to.
- Annie: Jesse. Why don't you just talk to him. You might learn a few things.
- Jesse: Like what?
- Annie: Well, he spent the last eight years with your mother. You tell me?
- [Jesse briefly strums his guitar.]
- Annie: We'll see you downstairs.
- Jesse: Fine.
- Jesse: Glen, Annie!
- [Jesse kicks the bed.]
- Annie: [waking up] Oh, god.
- Jesse: Wake up! It's seven in the morning. Let's go out on the boat with Randolph.
- Glen: [throws the pillow at Jesse] You wanna keep your voice down. You're gonna wake up a grizzly bear.
- Annie: Don't you usually wake up after noon?
- Jesse: Randolph leaves at dawn. It's dawn. Let's go.
- Annie: Let me tell you something. This family doesn't play favorites. We don't kiss butts.
- [Annie and Elvis start laughing]
- Elvis: I want to help.
- Annie: The whales need your help. They need everybody to pitch in.
- Elvis: You promise I can help?
- Annie: I promise.
- Elvis: Well, will you spit shake on it?
- Annie: Okay.
- [Elvis spits into his hand. Annie does the same thing. They then start shaking hands]
- Annie: This is very unhygienic.
- Dwight: Glen, Annie, I like for you to meet Elvis. Elvis, these are the Greenwoods.
- Annie: Hi, Elvis.
- Elvis: Well, aren't you guys rich?
- Dwight: Elvis.
- Elvis: That's what Dwight said.
- Dwight: [to Glen and Annie] I never said that.
- Elvis: I told you I can only stay with people who are loaded.
- [Glen quietly laughs]
- Elvis: So then it's not much of an adjustment. It's easier for me.
- Elvis: Wake up. Wake up. C'mon, guys. Wake up. C'mon. C'mon, guys.
- [the Greenwoods wake up]
- Annie: [awake] What. What. What. What. What.
- Elvis: There's been a horrible accident. Some kind of oil spill. Trapped the whales. Willy's sister's beached and she's sick real bad. Gotta do something. Call the army or-or the National Guard or something. Call Randolph. I think the ship crashed or something. It's a major disaster.
- Glen: Go back to sleep.
- Elvis: I'm telling the truth.
- Glen: [falls back to sleep] That's a first.
