When you have the advantage, just finish the job, don't taunt.

I was not sure what to expect with this movie reading the description and after watching it, it is still hard to say what thing thing was trying to do or where it was set. At first with all the VR they were showing I thought it was set in the future, well, the future from 1996, but then the bad guy says it's the 90's. So the setting is strange and not really that of our earth, because we still do not have good virtual reality and it is 2021.

The story, a guy is living an ideal life with his wife and son. That is until people come and shoot him in the face and kill his family! He is sent to a mental hospital where he escapes two years later and ends up in a cave where he is turned into a savage! A savage who must take revenge upon the people responsible for his family's death! He will also meet a cop who sort of helps him as he jumps around and only seems marginally stronger than usual as I have seen films with Bruce Lee where Bruce is way more impressive without the benefit of being reverted back to a savage...

The cast consists of perpetually oily guy who is the start, Cary Grant's daughter and that one guy who has appeared in numerous movies and television shows and who is nondescript as the dreaded killer! I mean, when the savage and this guy have their confrontation of course the savage is going to win! It sure is not going to be the crooked vacuum salesman from that one episode of Wings!

So the film was not all that bad as I kept wondering how all the things going on in the film were going to tie together; however, they did not tie together in a very good way. I was disappointed by the reasons behind the murder of the family and also the nerdy bad guy's reasons for committing such atrocities. The powers the hero had were also wildly inconsistent as at times he seemed only marginally better than a non augmented human and at others he was jumping off skyscrapers and landing with no problem...

I liked it, not too much but it was entertaining

I think this movie was nice. The storyline is not the best but it doesn't interrupt the entertainment factor in my opinion. Parts of the story were weak and a little senseless and explanation was missed but other parts were very nice and very well explained although those hadn't much to do with what was happening. The effects were pretty cool for an older B-Movie, I liked them, especially the real effects made from plastic and stuff were cool, the computer effects were as expected cheap but nonetheless not eye-hurting. The main character is going through quite a sick adventure mainly driven by revenge while he looks a little like Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2 but with a far worse haircut. I can recommend it to anyone who likes Sci-Fi stuff, anyone who doesn't probably shouldn't watch this movie.

    Nope nope nope

Poorly acted, poorly written, poorly filmed, poorly costumed. Other than that this movie is just a rip off of the Terminator theme. It is for that reason I give it only one star.

    Turkey Shoot...# 2

A dead rancher (Olivier Gruner) is revived by aliens in order to stop an evil scientist (or evil businessman, it's never made clear) who is trying to live in cyberspace (This is one of the film's less believable ideas) also we learn that the aliens are our gods and that they were the ones who created us and Olivier Gruner is made into an efficient killing machine who uses his savage skills to dispense of the bad guys and protect his new love interest Nicky Grant (Jennifer Grant) in this wildly incomprehensible sci-fi clunker. I need to explain myself, I'm doing a binge on Olivier Gruner for Thanksgiving because I myself can't get enough turkey and no man has put out more turkey than Oli Gruner but let's be perfectly candid, even for Gruner flicks this is really, really bad stuff. It's literally so weird and bizarre it's almost worth watching. I mean you will not see a movie as demented or senseless then this mess. However if your morbidly curious,go to it, I for one was lost through out and mainly the movie wasn't so funny as it was just blatantly confusing. Anyone who can tell you that they actually made sense out of this thing, is someone who lies. Plain and simple, Savage makes no sense and is only, for fans of Troma films. Also surprisingly Gruner doesn't fight as much as one would expect.

Cool movie with great effects and fun plot!

This movie was very ambitious and cool for its non-multimillion dollar budget! The special effects are incredible and the production design incredibly powerful, a strong visual vision from Director, Nesher. Plus, some great performances from actors you should recognize - the bad guy is great, Jennifer Grant obviously got her dad's charm (as in, Cary...) and Kristin Minter from ER is quite the sex pot! A great stay home and rent movie... fun, fast, fantasy flick!
