Summaries

  • A Baltimore policeman has an extramarital affair with a 16-year-old waitress. She bears a son and while seeking child support, is suddenly murdered, and the policeman becomes the prime suspect.
  • The names were changed in the movie, which was based on the true story of former Baltimore police sergeant James Allan Kulbicki, 37, who was convicted of first-degree murder in the 1993 killing of 22-year-old Gina Marie Nueslein, with whom he had a three-year adulterous affair that produced a son. Kulbicki shot Ms. Nueslein in the head at close range in his Ford pickup and dumped her body at Gunpowder Falls State Park because he did not want to take responsibility for their son. The slaying occurred Jan. 9, 1993, four days before Ms. Nueslein and Kulbicki were scheduled to attend a paternity hearing.—Major
  • A film about a young girl, Julia Neuland (Brittany Murphy), falling in love with the idealistic view of an older man in a uniform, John Dubroski (Joe Penny). When Julia falls pregnant after the couple's three year affair, John reveals he has been married all along and does not want to leave his wife. The story shows the life of Julia, who refused an abortion, as a young mother trying her hardest to raise this baby alone. Paternity battles begin as John refuses to accept he is the father. But four days before the hearing, Julia is found dead in a park, and John, the town's highly respected police officer, is the main suspect.—Samantha Clarson
