Quotes16

  • Centipede: I've sailed all the five seas. From the land of Bora Bora to the icy shores of Tripoli. Commodore Centipede, they used to call me.
  • Grasshopper: Seven.
  • Centipede: Huh?
  • Grasshopper: There are seven seas, and Tripoli is in the Sub-Tropics, Commodore!
  • Centipede: Trim the sails!
  • Ladybug: There are no sails.
  • Centipede: Start the engines!
  • Earthworm: There are no engines.
  • Centipede: I can't work with this miserable crew!
  • [James has discovered he has changed]
  • James: It's like he said: Marvelous things will happen.
  • Glowworm: Did he say, "Marvelous pigs in satin"?
  • Grasshopper: No, dear lady.
  • [He takes out a megaphone and speaks through it]
  • Grasshopper: Marvelous things will happen.
  • [to James]
  • Grasshopper: Poor Glowworm, she's a little deaf.
  • Earthworm: I, on the other hand, have exquisite hearing.
  • Centipede: Oh, yeah? Well, listen to this...
  • [He spits into his many hands and grabs the megaphone and yells into it]
  • Centipede: LET'S GET OUTTA HERE!
  • James: When I had a problem, my mom and dad would tell me to look at it another way.
  • Earthworm: How? First, I was bird bait, then I was shark bait.
  • James: I suppose, but you could say you gave us wings to fly, and defeated a giant shark single-handedly.
  • Earthworm: No-handedly.
  • James: You're a hero.
  • Earthworm: I am? I'm Wonder Worm!
  • James: You are!
  • [Spiker and Sponge are outside the peach, looking for James]
  • Aunt Spiker: Where are you? You detestable little worm!
  • Earthworm: AAAHHHHHH!
  • James: Not you, ME!
  • [in the darkness]
  • Earthworm: [Centipede pinches him] Ow! What was that?
  • Centipede: Sorry, I thought you were the spider.
  • Grasshopper: [Miss Spider hits him] Ouch. What was *that*?
  • Miss Spider: Excuse, I thought you were the Centipede.
  • Earthworm: Remember what your parents said, James... Try looking at it another way!
  • Earthworm: She won't be coming down here with the spray. She'll be coming down here with a shovel. It happened to m' brother. Split him right down the middle. Now I have two half-brothers.
  • The Grasshopper: No-one is going to squoosh you, old boy. You're six feet long now.
  • Earthworm: Bigger targets.
  • Spider: [eating the peach] Mmmmm. Better than ladybugs.
  • Ladybug: What?
  • Spider: Excuse me.
  • Earthworm: It's not dirt...
  • [takes a bite of the peach]
  • Earthworm: But it's not bad.
  • Earthworm: The sun's so hot! I'm roasted!
  • Earthworm: We gotta get out of here. We'll be turned into living statues.
  • Grasshopper: *Dead* living statues!
  • Old Green Grasshopper: Oh this is all my fault.
  • Earthworm: Hey don't take all the credit, I helped too!
  • Earthworm: Great! We'll be stuck here until we starve and die.
  • The Grasshopper: Highly improbable.
  • Ladybug: Well, that's encouraging.
  • The Grasshopper: We are far more likely to drown.
  • Ladybug: [Discussing how to fly out] How would you do it, James?
  • James: With those seagulls. But we'll need string.
  • Earthworm: [Sarcastically] Oh, well I'll just go to the stationers and pick up some paperclips while I'm at it!
  • Spider: [Pulling a thread from her body] I have string - miles of string.
  • James: And we'll need bait. Food bait.
  • Earthworm: Food bait? Where do you expect we're going to find bird bait out here in the middle of the...
  • [Notices everyone staring at him as Miss Ladybug pulls a cowbell out of her handbag]
  • Earthworm: Of the... oh no. Have you lost your minds?
  • [Screams as they grab him]
  • Grasshopper: [he heard in the distance] James! Up here!
  • Glowworm: Hello! We're here!
  • Centipede: Hey, buddy!
  • Aunt Sponge: [stutters] What are they?
  • Glowworm: [they grab one of their strings with seagulls on top] Young James.
  • Centipede: Hey, Jimmy!
  • Aunt Spiker: [looks up in fright] BUGS!
  • Centipede: [the people looked at them] Need a little help down there?
  • Aunt Sponge: [screams] GIANT BUGS!
  • [Spiker and Sponge gasp in fright]
  • Centipede: HEY, YOU OLD BIDDIES!
  • [blows a raspberry on them]
  • Aunt Sponge: [Spiker grabs Sponge's hand] Help us!
  • Ladybug: Whoo-ee! Here we are, dear.
  • Earthworm: Hello, James!
  • James: [looks up at them] I TOLD you they were real.
  • Grasshopper: Hello, old boy.
  • Miss Spider: Requesting clearance to land.
  • [the bugs land on the giant peach and Spiker and Sponge recoil in fright as the crowd gazes at the bugs]
  • James: Miss Spider, throw me a string.
  • [she tosses down a strand of thread to James, who lassoes Spiker and Sponge with it]
  • James: Okay. Pull them up.
  • [the bugs pull Spiker and Sponge up off the ground]
  • Aunt Sponge: HELP!
  • [Spiker and Sponge scream as they're pulled up and dangle from the crane hook]
  • Aunt Sponge: Where are we going?
  • James: Spin them around.
  • Aunt Sponge: YOU LITTLE...
  • [Grasshopper kicks Spiker and Sponge, causing them to spin around]
  • James: Wrap them tightly!
  • [Miss Spider throws a length of thread around Spiker and Sponge's legs as they spin, and their wigs fly off]
  • James: Tighter! Tighter!
  • [Spiker and Sponge spin even faster and faster as the thread wraps around them]
  • Beat Cop: [watching everything with the crowd] Well, I'll be a... The kid was tellin' the truth.
  • [Spiker and Sponge are now cocooned in thread]
  • Beat Cop: [to crane operator] Get those two creeps OUTTA here!
  • [the crane operator moves the crane away, taking Spiker and Sponge with it]
  • James: [Desperately] Wiggle, Mr Earthworm - out lives depend on it!
  • Earthworm: [Miserably] I can't - I'm all wiggled out!
  • Centipede: Here - let me help you.
  • [Grabs the Earthworm by his tail and whirls him around his head in full view]
  • Centipede: Come and get it! Get your fresh hot wienie!
  • [the seagulls start to flock down]
