Naib Subedar Mathura Das
- Lt. Colonel: He is second lieutenant, Dharamvir, your second in command.
- [Kuldeep and Dharamvir shake hands]
- Major Kuldeep Singh: Sir, you did not tell me that in between 120 men, there is a child too.
- Lt. Colonel: [Confused]
- Dharamvir: You are right sir. I am a child. My father was a kid too when he entered the army. But he was such a lovely child that in the '65 war God called him and made him sit on his lap.
- Major Kuldeep Singh: Your father's name?
- Dharamvir: Major Veer Bhan.
- Lt. Colonel: Ok Kuldeep. Best of luck.
- [Lt. Colonel and Kuldeep salute each other]
- Major Kuldeep Singh: Dharamvir, tell the company to mount.
- Dharamvir: Sir!
- [Dharamvir turns towards Mathura Das]
- Dharamvir: Subedar-sir, get the company mounted.
- Naib Subedar Mathura Das: COMPANY, MOUNT!
- [Company mounts to the trucks]
- Major Kuldeep Singh: I knew Major Veer Bhan very well. I can't call him a friend since he was my senior. But our relationship was no less than a friendship. How is your mother?
- Dharamvir: She is fine. But she can't see.
- Major Kuldeep Singh: Can't see?
- Dharamvir: The light of her eyes flowed away with tears.
- Major Kuldeep Singh: [Consoles Dharmvir] I'm sorry son.
- Major Kuldeep Singh: [after the company falls in] Tonight is a test of our resolve. Coz the Indian Air Force cannot arrive before tomorrow morning, which leaves us with too much wait time.
- [Cautioning]
- Major Kuldeep Singh: Men, the enemy is right at our gates. We're 120, they've an entire tank regiment advancing. The command HQ has given us option to fall back and retreat. But they've left the final decision at my disposal. So hear it out, I, Major Kuldeep Singh, am NOT gonna leave my post. Your decision is yours. Whosoever wants to leave this post, is free to do so.
- Captain Bhairav Singh: Sir, I'd like to make my case first and foremost. Whether anybody stays or not, I am not leaving my motherland at the mercy of my enemy. It may cost me my life, but it can't force me to fall back.
- Major Kuldeep Singh: Bhairav Singh, you've spoken of giving your life to your country today, DONT ever again. Coz the testament of time is witness to the fact that nobody ever won a war by dying for his country, he won it by making the enemy die for its country.
- Naib Subedar Mathura Das: Even though my leave was sanctioned, I didn't return home Sir. I returned from halfway to fight the enemy alongside my company. Only to be told that command has ordered me to fall back ? I'd rather be executed than obey these orders.
- Major Kuldeep Singh: I understand your emotions Mathura Das. But command must've arrived at this conclusion after deep thinking for sure. We're 120, they're 2000.
- Subedar Rattan Singh: What difference does it make Sir. Guru Gobind Singhji Maharaj has always taught us that if the sparrow can face/off with the hawk, we're humans afterall.
- [Resonating the call of the men behind him]
- Subedar Rattan Singh: NOBODY is going anywhere.
- Major Kuldeep Singh: So should I take it that you shall all fight the enemy with me ?
- Captain Bhairav Singh, Naib Subedar Mathura Das, Subedar Rattan Singh: [alongside all the men] Yes Sir.
- Major Kuldeep Singh: If after this decision any man tries to leave the post, I'll shoot him. And God forbid, if I crumble and try running from this post, it's the order of your commanding officer you all will shoot me.
- Subedar Rattan Singh: [Roaring] Bole So Nihaal !
- Major Kuldeep Singh, Captain Bhairav Singh, Naib Subedar Mathura Das, Subedar Rattan Singh: [Roaring alongwith all the men as Pakistani tanks continue advancing] Sat Sri Akaal ! Soldier Of Waheguru, Victory Of Waheguru !
- Subedar Rattan Singh: [In a charged up tone] Men, man your guns !
- [All soldiers proceed into the trench, load their guns and position their aim at the Pakistani forces]
