DECAMPITATED is one of the better Troma productions.
Seven friends set out for a camping trip in the wilds of Colorado. Unbeknownst to them, a hopping, skipping, dancing madman is out to ruin their plans!
Made with only the finest cheddar available, this great film teaches us many IMPORTANT LESSONS: #1- There is no greater miracle of science than duct tape! #2- The weed whacker is life's ultimate weapon! #3- Sudden, brutal amputation need not be a hindrance to a quality camping experience!
Featuring ultra-mega-omni-violence; unfortunate sound effects; kung fu; and a cross-dressing cowboy; this movie contains every essential cinematic element!
I laughed! I cried! I even barfed a little, once!...

This was so much fun to make! EVERYONE involved did a great job and the end result is a hilarious spoof! Don't expect to be scared, this is not a typical horror film, but there is plenty of blood and effects to enjoy. The humor is tongue in cheek, and not everyone will "get" some of the jokes. The only way to watch this is with an open mind, and you just want to be entertained. Check out Fast Food Films on the FX Channel for their 10 minute version, you can look up the details on their website as far as the scheduled airdates. I just hope you like it.
I admit, I'm not even remotely a Troma fan! I think they're dumb ugly films and have never seen the appeal. For that reason I wasn't exactly the demographic for this going in.
Here we see Troma do a spoof of your traditional slasher flick. We have a group of 20 somethings go camping in the forest, a mixed bag of your traditional stereotypes and they fall foul of serial killer.
To the films credit the killer is fairly interesting, a jovial fellow who skips along and uses all manner of weapons to dispose of his prey.
Further to the films credit there are some laughs to be had, I personally for example laughed out loud at the opening sequence.
Sadly that really is all I can say in favour of the film. Alike every other Troma movie it looks ugly, it sounds dreadful and for every good joke there are a dozen more that simply aren't funny.
Troma just isn't my thing, never has been and likely never will. It's dumb fun, without the fun.
The Good:
Has a few laughs
The Bad:
Looks like crap
Sounds like an early VHS
Mostly unfunny nonsense
Things I Learnt From This Movie:
When caught in a bear trap use your machete on your leg instead of the trap. Duh!
Vibrators make great drink stirrers
Limbs are like lego bricks, they just clip back on

I would consider myself a pretty big horror movie buff. I love black comedy horror, gore films, teen slashers and whatever else you wish to throw at me. One day, my Troma loving brother-in-law got this new film in the mail - Decampitated. It looked like it may be scary, so I agreed to watch it with him. I was wrong. It was not scary, but at the same time, I found myself walking away from the film with a big smile on my face. I liked it, I actually liked it! Campy as hell, but the film was good. The clever uses of Duck Tape, the weed wacker and prancing killer, was a clever film that almost made you turn the machine off - it was so silly. A couple days later, I found myself asking my Bro if I can watch it again. I think I have seen it 10 times now (which is pretty good, let me tell you) and I will place it in the oh so hard to get into club of "Good Troma Movies" (Standing along the sides of Tromeo and Juliet and Terror Firmer) Good job guys!
First of all, don't expect a scary film. This is not a spoof, or a take on any one horror film and Troma had nothing to do with this film except to buy it once it was done and distribute it. This was all written, directed and acted independently. If you take all of the 80's horror films and took out all the seriousness, this is what you are left with. All I can say, is I am extremely proud of this film and the fantastic job everyone did in the film and behind the scenes. The script may not be the best but if you don't "get" the humor you must not be from this planet. The opening scene sets the pace for the film, it is a fast paced, campy comedy about some teens who are reluctant participants of a camping trip to DeCamp Acres. You find yourself asking, "Why are these guys camping together, they can't stand each other!" Filled with EXTREME OVER-ACTING (on-purpose), this really rips on the whole horror genre trying to take themselves to seriously. I had so much fun being involved with this project and even more fun seeing the final result! Please take the time to see it once. Trust me, if you know what to expect going into this film, you won't be disappointed! Oh, one more thing, please forgive the "Jim Carrey" acting in some parts, I was a big fan!
