Overlong and hackneyed, but good for its era.....
Well, some films turn vintage while some are faded by time, especially the ones with a weak story depending on its technicalities to attract the viewers. This holds true to "Ziddi" which was a big hit for Sunny Deol in the 90s, known for its action, but not for its story or other aspects.
The film focuses on the crimes and corruption in a city for which the hero takes law in his hand against his family. The film was known for its action, especially the ones with the cars blown, which might feel obsolete by now but for its era it was an achievement. Other aspects are technically okay but the story is average and don't linger much in your mind. Overall, it's an overlong and hackneyed to watch it at present; but still it's a time pass movie to recall your 90s memories. Even if not very genuine, there are some hit songs, emotions, suspense, and few typecast roles which you'll enjoy it still.
Rating: 1 star out of 4.

Nonstop action at its best!
This is one of Sunny Deol's best action movies ever. As asbohra said, it matches up to Ghayal. Sunny as the leader of the poor is brilliant, especially in action. As it goes on, it gets more thrilling all the way to the explosive climax. One of my favorites of all-time! Sunny really does rock in action (nobody else could do what he did)! Even the villains are convincing! How Sunny takes revenge against his enemies (and some new ones) is the crux of Ziddi. It deserves more than a 10 out of 10. These roles were tailor-made for him as they are hard-hitting. Stunts are superb. Sunny makes them believable better than the rest of the current crop. Rock on Paaji!!
A master class action movie
Sunny has always shown such a real action and cinema in his all movies except the one he released later in 2007. And Guddu dhanoa knows how to bring that potential of him on screen. Ravens Tandon rocks as always and she is really looking hot to fall for. I have watched this probably 6 to 7 times never looks old
An action film that offers you much more!
When it comes to actors like Sunny Deol, we usually expect a solid packed action flick with tons of blood and great dialogues. Well, this film is no different!
However what makes Ziddi special is the wide range of emotions starting right from the beginning itself. Apart from Sunny its Sachin Khedkar and Anupam Kher who give power packed performances and lend great support.
However the antagonists played by Raj Babbar and Ashish Vidyarthi delivers an equally fabulous performance, specially Ashish! You will love to hate him!!
The female leads do an equally good work, however the main lead Raveena Tandon had very few space.
Overall, a wonderful film to look out for! One helluva ride to look out for!

There were stories of Akshay and Sunny having a confrontation between each other on the sets of Ziddi.
- GoofsSunny Deol is seen carrying the body of his dead sister, and in the next shot he is sitting in the car with Raveena Tandon, watching the procession.
