The story I saw in this series was really cool.
I have been having a hard time finding info on this series. I saw a episode from this series on HBO one day that was part of this "Lifestories" compilation. It was good and very realistic. The story I saw was a true story-after it aired there was a brief commentary by the actual date-rape victim. I believe Ali Larter played the victim. Anyways she was good and I was impressed on how real-life she made that role seem. Anyways I am curious to see the rest of the shows in this series.
I loved it!
I just watched 1 of the stories- the thing about the anorexic girl (played by Calista Flockhart). We watched it for health class and we didn't even know it was her! We enjoyed the movie because it was realistic and nice and I hope to watch it again if I have it on tape. An 8/10.
An important series to watch when you're young.
Being a preteen when this show came to air, it was eye opening! It dealt with hard life issues and showed the consequences of ones actions and how those actions affect the lives of others.
I know a lot of parents nowadays would not let their kids be subjected to this material but let me tell you as one who watched them in their youth- Let them watch it and watch it alone. This could be a defining moment in their lives. These issues exist and have to be dealt with daily. Better for them to have a reference point and a way to cope then to face reality unequipped.

It really stick with you, especially Gunplay: The Last day in the life of Brian Darling
I watched every episode in this series as they aired in the early 90s.
As a kid, I didn't fully understand them completely, but their lessons have always been with me into adulthood.
Gunplay: The Last day in the life of Brian Darling had an extraordinary impact on me. It left such a feeling of dread in my stomach, and that feeling always returns when I have read about similar events, or even a scene in The Sixth Sense.
I did not touch a gun until I was in my late 20s, and only with a Police Officer friend of mine. This type of tragedy happens every day, and makes me think "If they had only seen this show"

In my case this film back-fired
The film in which Calista Flockhart plays a young woman with an eating disorder was well-made I thought. But through no fault of the film or it's creators this film had some negative results. I'm sure the people who made the movie wanted to discourage young girls like myself from ever developing an eating disorder. Unfortunately this film taught me how to have an eating disorder, at least I used it as a place to get tips because it really goes into great detail about this girls methods of fasting and purging. I would write it off as a fluke but I recently learned that Christina Ricci reacted the same way to this film. So, despite the quality and intentions of this movie, if you are a young impressionable girl or boy, or the parent of one this may be a movie you should skip. There are probably other people who found this to be triggering and you don't want to become one of them.
