Broadway Theatre Archive: The Prince of Homburg 1977.

Played in New York's Chelsea Theater Center - introduction by Hal Holbrook.

Frank Langella plays the Prince of Homburg. Heinrich von Kleist wrote the story in 1811. The play based on Kleist's works is written by Heinrich von Kleist, and James Kirkup (English version.)

It is a period piece so no modern clothing (17th-century costume) or weapons. Outside (Biltmore Estate - 1 Approach Road, Asheville, North Carolina, USA) instead of a stage; yet still minimalist. It almost has a Shakespearian feel.

The descriptions of a Prussian Prince disobeying orders are so superficial that the depth of this play that I will not describe this wonders story and depth of character.

There are a few twists and turns of consciousness as the plot thickens. What shall be the outcome and how did it come to this?

Even today being in the military one must weigh "Commander's Intent" and A target of opportunity comes in two forms; "unplanned and unanticipated".
