    impressive game

This game grips you when you first play it. You feel you are in a hi octane thriller in which you are the star. The game has stealth levels and mainly action levels and they are tough especially the helicopter boss level. I got stuck and helplessly tired of trying that i got the cheat code out.The exhibit level is stealth for a short while but the action begins soon after. The music for this level is top notch the change of tune in accordance to the action make the game play far more enjoyable and overall this game is brilliant but its has its moments of frustration. The cut scenes are excellent and movie type and some great acting from the characters. The pre boss dialogue of Anton Goudeux at the Washington memorial and the music that follows is gripping and its embedded in your consciouness for a long time afterwards. The handling is easy enough the control of the game is comfortable. Its a one path game so once completed you may take your time coming back to it.

    The Best Game Ever!

This game is the BEST there has been since 007 Golden Eye came out in Nintendo 64. I love the series. The story line is great and it will make you want to play it until the end just like a great book you are into. I have all three series.

    Fun, and enjoyable

a great spy thriller and excellent gameplay make this worth the $19.99 you will pay for it. The Sequal is a little better, but this is a great game. One piece of advice though: don't just play this game over and over and over again, you WILL get tired of it eventually.

Best game ever made on the PlayStation

26 years later and I still play and complete this game at least once a month. This was the first game I owned for PlayStation, and when it was on demo in the Walmart near me as a teenager, I would constantly play it every time I went into the store. I really think they should make a movie series out of these games. I don't know who they would cast to play which characters, but I think it would definitely sell. They definitely have the resources to do so. Also I would love to see it updated for the PS5, but only graphically leave everything else exactly as is. And I will say it once again, this is the best game ever created for PlayStation.

Nearly 20 years later a landmark in Playstation video games..

When this game came out, Metal Gear Solid was a huge hit and spawned many copycats, including this one. The acting and pace is well done and the graphics and sound are great and the controls are good. I never beat the game since it was too hard for me. Thankfully i got it on my ps3 to replay again after renting it at blockbuster when it came out. It's time that this game deserves a reboot ever since God of War became a hit.

    Edit
    • Trivia
The game's timeframe takes place from sometime in August 1999 to 8 September 1999. This can be figured out from the date/time info on the in-game PDA equipment
    • Goofs
Mara Aramov is Russian, but her last name should actually be "Aramova", because Russian surnames have masculine and feminine forms.
    • Quotes

Gabe Logan: Anton Girdeux, I hope Rhoemer's paying you enough to die for him!

Anton Girdeux: Gabriel Logan, are we the optimist? Look around Logan, this hall contains the mosaic, depicting the entire history of your country's wars and aggressions. We are about to make an addition to it.

Gabe Logan: I don't think so, Girdeux, it ends here.

    • Crazy credits
At the end of the credits, a man is shown looking out Markinson's office window with Pharcom boxes in the foreground. Mara Aramov walks up to him and whispers something in his ear, he replies "well done my dear, well done..." she then runs off laughing and the door is left open for a sequel
    • Alternate versions
Early drafts of Gabe and Lian were of having Gabe with buzz-cut army style haircut, and Lian with short red hair. These drafts however evolved into Gabe and Lian as we know them now and can be seen as a secret code on _Syphon Filter 2_ (2000).
