      Usual 80's film...

T Rama Rao's 'Majboor' is a routine 1980's Hindi film, that has many villains and heroes. It's been-there-done-that stuff, that hardly holds appeal.

'Majboor' is a yet another tale of, the good versus the evil. A battle that packs in violence, misunderstandings, complications, songs, comedy and some emotional melodrama.

As honest to the time of it's release, 'Majboor' succeeds by becoming a typical fare, that use to work back in the day. T Rama Rao's direction in neat, while the writing is mediocre. The soundtrack is fair.

Performance-Wise: Jeetendra is his usual self, while Sunny Deol does well. Jaya and Farah are passable. Ashok Kumar is wasted. Shakti Kapoor stands out. He plays the role of the mandatory villain with complete ease. Prem Chopra is alright. Kader Khan impresses, even though his track comes across as a yawn. Asrani is over-the-top.

On the whole, 'Majboor' can be viewed once, only if your looking for nothing but 80's entertainment.

      • Trivia
When Jayaprada did not report for the shooting, the producer spread a vicious rumor that Jaya flew down to Bangalore to confront Neeta Puri about the stories she was spreading about her husband Shrikanth. Neeta was working in his Kannada film Guru. Neeta denied this story and claimed the producer made this up to make Jayaprada look bad.
