Children of the Corn: Revelation

Ok, a priest, a stripper, a pot-head & a granny walk into a row of corn... No it's not the start of a bad joke, just a insipidly bad movie. In this seemily up-teenth corny sequal, a woman goes to an evicted building looking for her granny where she meets the children of the... oh forget this, just know that I watch crap like this so you don't have to.

When a woman goes in search of her grandmother in a run down soon to be condemned apartment block she comes across the titular children and is pulled into "He who walks behind the rows" latest scheme.

The Children Of The Corn franchise was never exactly great but at least it has character, it had originality and the further in it has gone the more convoluted the plot has become and now it doesn't even resemble its humble beginnings.

The premise is dreadful, the script is lacking and with the exception of Michael Ironside (Who is barely in it) the cast aren't exactly doing much to improve it.

Not the worst of the franchise but certainly close this is a further example that this is being milked into obscurity and needs laying to rest before it becomes another Witchcraft (1988).

The Children Of The Corn have 1 weakness, video games!

Okay, let me start off, this movie was poorly written, but I have to say that it was *really* scary. Especially the little boy and the little girl that always walked around and never talked. To tell you the truth, I never exactly liked the original film. One of the reasons I rented this was because on the back it mentioned it was from the producers of "Dracula 2000", which I enjoyed. Otherwise, I don't think I would have rented it. I give Children of the Corn: Revelation a 6 out of 10.

I mostly wanted to respond to a review to this movie I just read. I'm a fan of the first movie. I have it on DVD, and never tire of it at all. Yet the review to this movie I just read completely bashed it and said it has no scares in it. I've been watching horror for MOST of my 20 years, and this movie gave me the creeps. Then again, I DID deliberately wait until 11 at night to watch it in the dark, so that added to the atmosphere. But it's not without it's horrific charm. Maybe it isn't a great Children of the Corn movie -- God knows the Second one stinks in comparison to the first, and the fourth one is pretty good. Yet this movie still stands a chance at good reviews if you don't compare it.

These COTC sequels aren't welcome by many horror fans,but,wait,this one has some things going for it.This has a coherent plot that approaches the story with abundant creepiness,foreboading sets,and well-crafted direction.When I heard the commentary on the HELLRAISER:HELLSEEKER dvd I found it interesting that that film used this film's sets.I need to play the 2 movies back-to-back.
