- Eddie: [crying] It's not fair.
- Tru: What's not fair?
- Eddie: I wanna be done being different. I want to be the same as everybody else.
- Tru: Eddie, Everybody's different, Not just you.
- Eddie: No, Tru. I'm real different!
- Tru: You know, you're right, but if you were just the same as everybody else, you wouldn't get all that special help in school...
- [starts to cry]
- Tru: and you wouldn't be allowed to rollerblade in the house, and... and you wouldn't be the... amazing... brother... that I love.
- Eddie: What's wrong,Tru? I make you sad now? What's the matter?
- Tru: Nothing.
- Eddie: [Eddie wipes Trus tears with his coat ad gives her a hug] I love you Tru.
- Tru: [sobbing] I love you too, Eddie.
- Tru: You know, you never had to be Dee Dee. All you had to do was talk to me.
- Ginny: You know it wasn't that long ago, you used to tell me everything, more than I wanted hear.
- Tru: Just because I don't tell you everything in my life doesn't mean I don't love you.
- Ginny: I never thought you did not love me. I just missed you.
- Tru: When I was making my movie, watching it over and over again, it really hit me. Eddie and I were not actually the same. We played monkey man and went out for soccer together. I mean, we goofed around.
- Ginny: You goofed around just fine.
- Tru: [Starting to cry] Only now, I'll go off to college and probably get married, have children. And Eddie is always going to be Eddie.
- [they start hugging and crying in each others arms]
- Tru: [to Billy] Excuse me, is this yours?
- Billy Meyer: Uh, no. I told him he could keep it. Isn't this "Be Kind to Retards" week? And besides why would we want that back after all three of us took turns spitting in it.
- Tru: And then you gave it to him to put on his head? What is wrong with you?
- Billy Meyer: What's wrong with me? What's the matter with you, freak? I'm starting to think you're a bigger mental case than he is.
- [Tru pushes Billy off the bridge and he falls into the river]
- Tru: [to Eddie] Let's go.
- Misty77: The question, dear, isn't what's wrong with your brother. It's what's wrong with you. You can't cure the mentally handicapped. You gotta have a strong sense of faith.
- Choppy L.A.: Hey, Tru. Choppy L.A. here. My son sounds a lot like your brother. Our school board was cool about helping and yours can be be too. Good luck, huh?
- DeeDee: Dear Tru, all I know is this, if your brother has a sister as caring as you, he is already ten times better of than most children with his handicap. Listen, as long as you continue to support him and love him, everything else would be fine. Anytime you want to talk, I'm here.
