    Kind of awkward

This is still way ahead of Carrot Top or the animated Titanic film, but this still isn't quite good. It features a girl who tries to bring her mother back to life, but instead brings her doll to life. Yeah, it's kind of better and worse than it sounds. In the first thirty minutes, I really was enjoying some of it. As it went on, it did get weaker. I guess it's just because it's weird that this film about a doll coming to life has all this talk about death and moving on. I mean, I know the intentions are good but it was just so weird how they set it up. I guess I could compare it to something like "The Odd Life Of Timothy Green". It's a movie that tries to be sincere but doesn't really know how to be serious with its silly premise.

I think the movie could have worked a lot more if it had more jokes. I mean, it should have been more light hearted. I do admit that the acting isn't bad. Lindsay Lohan is a fairly good actress and she actually does act pretty realistically to this situation. I remember back when I read Disney Adventures comics and how they always promoted Disney Channel original movies. It's hard to say whether they're at least better than their direct-to-video sequels, but they might be slightly. At least they don't follow up a perfectly good movie. This is nostalgic in a weird way. They have in fact made better movies like this, so I say you can skip it. But hey, Tyra Banks isn't that bad of an actress! It's better than "High School Musical", but not by much. **

    Lohan credit

The only reason I truly saw it was because of Lindsay Lohan. This movie was funny and really adorable, and Lindsay grew into quite a pretty young lady. With Tyra Banks in it I though the movie was going to be one big fashion shoot, but I was happily mistaken, because she could both act and sing well. Lindsay Lohan, of course, was perfect, and Jerry Burns did a great job as well. :)

    Real Cute!

I just saw this last night on "The Wonderful World of Disney". I thought it was going to be a dumb kiddy movie, but I was soon wrong. I loved it! My only question is this: Was Tyra Banks typecast? Think about it. A supermodel playing a Barbie doll? I guess it was good. Actually, I loved this movie!

    Adorable

I've always loved Tyra Banks as a model and I loved her even more in this movie. She was adorable when she first came to life from being a doll and she showed some real emotions later when she learned what it was like to be human. The scene at the end of the football made me cry along with the characters. I know the plot has been done before, but I guess I'm a sucker for them. I also like "My Stepmother is an Alien" and the recent one on PAX where Kathy Ireland played Santa's daughter. I hope that Tyra Banks does more acting because she is very appealing.

    a lonely girls spell

Having seen Lohan recently in Just My Luck I remember this movie from a while back.

This movie is much better than Just My Luck as it has more depth and well just a bit more believable. The Parent Trap before this is also a good movie to see, I recommend this one out of the three I have mentioned.

While the story line might turn you off, it's a passable movie and great to see Lohan's early performance.

Supermodel Tyra Banks also needs a mention if you need some more motivation to see this.
