A Good Cook Is Always Worth It

Edith Storey in her Jane make-up -- very plain-looking, and her hair in pigtails -- works for Hughie Mack as a cook. She has fallen for the fat man, but can't stand his cat. So Mack fires Miss Storey, and goes through a series of unsatisfactory servants.

Miss Storey not only plays a plain Jane, her dialogue is shown as lisping. Nonetheless, given the title of this movie, we can have a sense of certainty how things will turn out.

This is the second movie in which Miss Storey played her Jane character. There were at least two others according to the IMDb, and many more according to the archivists at the Library of Congress. This one barely escaped destruction to the ravages of time. Will any others turn up?
