This would be on my 100 best movie list if I could just get it together to make one. I saw it years back and it just keeps coming back to me. I would love to see it again, and can't find it anywhere.

This is a very powerful film that delves into the mean unforgiving streets of Vancouver's Downtown East Side.
It follows the lives of a First Nations brother and sister struggling to survive and feed their drug addictions.
I found the film to be real, gritty and true to life.
Being First Nations I empathize with the filmmaker's vision and commend the producers as well as actors and crew for making such a realistic look at our society on the mean streets of Vancouver.
I feel this is a universal story that can take place in any Canadian/American city.

A very interesting "slice of life." This film isn't preachy, but simply shows us life as it is. AMAZING performances - A lot of humour for a film about drugs and prostitution! Reminds us of the little funny things in life :-)
I suspect that Nathaniel Geary will be a new voice in Canadian Cinema. I think some writer directors can have problems as they are better at one thing than the other. Clearly not the case here as we have dialogue that rings so true. I would suspect some improvisation as some of the dialogue is almost too natural!
Excellent.

I was strolling through the bookstore one night, and being a fan of Katherine Isabelle I spotted her face.. well half a face on the cover. I had to pick this up ! This movie was moving and very real life not like all the other fake ones out this year. Independent Canadian Movies have been better that the movies that have made theatres. The prostitution and all the drugs just made it more depressing and made you shudder at the thought that it could happen to anyone, and your living it now. Rent this movie everyone, If you are 14+ and have an open mind, step away from the new blockbuster and find this on the bottom shelf and grab it.
I've watched this movie several times since 2003. I've recommended it to several parents who have children involved with drug abuse and it's helped to give a reality check to people who think that drug usage is a joke. In the GTA of Ontario, I see a lot of drug usage. The entertainment industry and even some cultures seem to glorify such use and lead people down the wrong path, a path that's very difficult to get out of no matter how much you want out.
On The Corner touches on these issues and is portrayed in a raw, honest and pure way. I've also spoken to people who work at homeless shelters and drug outreach programs who say that they see the things portrayed in this movie everyday.
I highly recommend this movie!
